In a day & age where one would think that sex or the conversation of sex is anything but taboo, in reality it's more taboo than ever. Dr. Brame has written a phenomenal, educational, eye opening and inspiring book with The Truth About Sex. Whether you consider yourself as open minded and explorative as they come or you consider yourself one of the most conservative, there is something (several things really) to be learned with this read.

This first of three volumes will open up doors of understanding & exploration while bringing a few chuckles by reading The Truth About Sex. I have it added as a gift for friends, family and our 18 year old daughter as well. I can not recommend this book enough and am in pins & needles to get the next two volumes.

Beautifully done Dr. Gloria Brame!

"The Truth About Sex," is part 1 of a much-needed 3-part trilogy that cuts through the outdated old-world distinction, 'decadence,' all the way down to the bedrock of connected sexual relationship. Sexual myths are summarily identified and dismissed. How and why people connect sexually is laid out in a straightforward manner. Dr. Brame delivers straight talk about the vast and intricate fields of sex, orgasm, and masturbation. This work is not designed to shock or sensationalize, but to inform, and it does so in a brilliant, quiet, understated manner. A worthy addition to the libraries of sex educators, students, and pioneers.

Here is a book that should be handed to teens and every one over 15 for that matter. A common sense view on sex. Sex can and should be a healthy and happy part of every ones life. The taboo and it's "dirty" or "wrong" belief that many have about sex is alarming. A normal part of life is wronged when it should be encouraged and approached in a healthy manner. How refreshing to have a book that cuts to the heart of it and delivers in an easy to read and entertaining way. Sex between two consenting adults is okay and no one needs to feel guilty about it. Why do we allow something that's normal to be made so ugly? I loved this book and feel it should be mandatory reading for all for it's refreshing views that I wish everyone had. I look forward to the next two books in the series, I hope they will be out soon.

FINALLY!! An enlightened approach to sex and sexuality presented in a thoughtful and common sense manner. Dr. Brame breaks down myths surrounding sex, challenging individuals and society to open minds and doors to sexual expression in its many forms.
Diversity IS the NORM in nature and is the norm in human sexual expression.
THANK YOU DR. BRAME!!
My highest praise: I am gifting a copy to each of my teenagers. May they find fulfillment in the fullness of life... including their sexual selves.
Can't wait for the next two volumes.

As a woman in her early 20's and a practicing Christian I want to commend this author for her professionalism, intelligence, and sensitivity. I was taught growing up that sex was a beautiful and profoundly spiritual thing. However, if in the wrong circumstance, (if you weren't married) a sexual act or even lustful thoughts would set you on the path of emotional and spiritual destruction. Naturally that terrified me into being a good girl. Only after when I went to college and I started crossing lines that I started to question things. Why is it ok for a man to hold my hand but not touch my breasts? It's all my body. Is my body bad? I had questions and this book was in a word perfect. It showed me that my thoughts and feelings that I was trying to surpress are actually quite natural. I never knew quite knew what a sexologist was. I always assumed it was a pseudo science but after reading this I see how it all fits together. Before my little sister goes to college I will give her this book. It's one of the most honest and enlightening things I've ever read.

Did you know that graham crackers and corn flakes were developed as a cure for sexual behavior?? I didn't either until I read The Truth about Sex,

a book written by Gloria G. Brame Ph.D. This book is the first in a planned three volume set that will give adults the basic tools to have a happy and fulfilling sex life. Brame makes the point in the book saying that the choices that people make are sometime lousy and that can affect how they not only feel about themselves or about their relationships. Brame goes on to say in her book that there is no perfect ideal for a person's sex life. As long as it does not interfere or disrupt their interaction with others or makes withdraw from society, it is okay. Basically what she is saying is that what one person may like another may be offended by. She is saying that variety is normal and natural. There is no set formula for the perfect relationship. This book was very refreshing to read. I have to admit I was scared at first to read it. When I first got it, I thought what I have gotten myself into. But I am glad to say I was pleasantly surprised by how refreshing and new outlook Brame gives to the subject.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
