Kathleen Palmer is a GBI dedicated to her job in rural Georgia surrounded by corrupt cops. When she investigates the shooting of two teenage boys she is determined to find the truth, no matter the consequences. What she doesn't intent is to fall for Jason Harding a depute in the same police squad that she believes killed the two boys. Is Jason what he seems or something more? What Kathleen knows for sure is that her heart believes in him.

Truth and Consequences is a great read. Although the writing could use a bit more polish it is great in most instances. The plot is captivating if a little choppy in some places. The characters are brought to life beautifully.

This book is great for anyone who likes mysteries and non corny romances.

I love to read Nora Roberts, Mary Higgins Clark, etc. I love the Romance/Mystery genre. This book fits well into that genre. It was a quick but intelligent read. I really enjoyed the characters and was pulled into the story. I felt that the plot was believable. I could not put this book down. This book was very descriptive without being overly wordy. My only reason for 4 stars and not 5- The author spent so much time building up to the end of the story and then ended it a little abruptly. I liked the ending but just felt it could have been drawn out a little better. If you are a Nora Roberts fan, you will really enjoy this book! I will definitely seek out other books by this author.

This book will keep you on the edge of your seat! Ms. Winfree has done a wonderful job with recreating small-town characters...so much so, that you feel as if you are right there with them. The book is full of action, suspense, and a great romatic couple.
