Book Description

May 6, 2008
In the Truth of a Hopi, Edmund Nequatewa relates the Hopis' myths, legends, belief systems, and oral history. Nequatewa's writings give us a glimpse into the psyche of the Hopi in the way that only a Hopi could. Here you will find not only the traditional oral histories, but stories of how the Hopi resisted sending their children away to enforced boarding schools. A fascinating view of a subtle people.

3.0 out of 5 stars An Interesting Source, October 11, 2010

This review is from: Truth of a Hopi: Stories Relating to the Origin, Myths and Clan (Paperback)
I am trying to find a medium between the rather radical and opinionated "Hopi Survival Kit" and the more standard writings about the Hopi. This is not it, but more of a (deep?) background piece. I am still looking, and this is interesting reading nonetheless.
