5.0 out of 5 stars The best one!
This is the best release from these dudes in my opinion. I have been diggin Pro-Pain for years now, and this one still makes me wanna throw things. If you need to remove a tree stump from your yard, listen to this in your headphones and start pullin!

2.0 out of 5 stars bad vocal recording
Their first album was great. I don't know what happened on this one. The music is cool in many instances, but the recording style on the vocals is just terrible. Instead of a clean, crisp, clear gutter growl, like on the first album, this one sounds like the singer has his voice coming out of a lowered, tuned down, crunched tin can. It's hard to explain, but it really...

4.0 out of 5 stars The Best One, July 9, 2002

Yes, this really is the best one. More consistent than "Foul Taste", the band really enter their own on this disc. There's great riffs, memorable structures and even a guest appearance by the always available Ice-T (and it really isn't bad... I would be the first to say so). After this disc the band went on to deliver solid material but this one has got that indescribable charm. They could have gone totally rap metal and never have so buy it and support their families.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best hardcore albums of all time, July 9, 2001
By
This review is from: The Truth Hurts (Audio CD)
Pro-Pain is one of the best metal acts to survive into 2001, and their 1994 album, "The Truth Hurts", is their finest ever. This album is a hardcore masterpiece; a brutal sonic assault from the start of "Make Love Not War" to "Switchblade Knife" at the end. Fans of today's watered down neo-metal bands like Korn and Limp Bizkit will walk away from this album with bleeding ears and confused looks on their faces, but fans of acts like Sepultura and Motorhead will eat it up. Even a baffling duet with Ice-T (in the vein of Body Count, not his rap work) comes off brilliantly. The lyrics involve genocide, anger, murder, dirty politics, and drug rehabilitation. It's not lite listening, folks.

Singer/bassist Gary Meskil's distorted howling and the crushing sound of a wall of guitars have never sounded better than on this album. This is the album to buy if you have any interest in Pro-Pain or ear splitting hardcore.

Pro Pains best. They were never gonna be the most creative band or best musicians out there. This is usually the one i pick when i get in the mood for Pro Pain. Good for a couple plays a year. 3.75.

Instead of a clean, crisp, clear gutter growl, like on the first album, this one sounds like the singer has his voice coming out of a lowered, tuned down, crunched tin can. It's hard to explain, but it really ruins this album, which would've otherwise been quite good.

there's only one way to listen to this album, full throttle. if the first song isn't one of the baddest openers of all time than i don't know what is.....then they continue to rip it apart throughout the album and close it out with the last 3 songs that'll blow you away.

This is by far the best album these guys have released. It is fast, aggressive, and very tight. If you like your music loud and in your face, you must definitely give this album a listen. My personal favorite tracks are; The Truth Hurts
Make War Not Love
The Beast Is Back

Give this album a listen and let me know what you think!
