5.0 out of 5 stars Finally - The answers I've been looking for!, November 21, 2000
By
Carrieanne (Corpus Christi, TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Truth On Modeling (Paperback)
This book sheds light on modeling and gives you step by step instructions on how to begin. Not only did I learn how many mistakes people make during their search for discovery but also the amount of money they waste! If you're like me you think you need to spend tons of money on modeling classes and a portfolio...WRONG!

This 'workbook' teaches you where to begin, where not to begin and even highlightes and defines the key modeling lingo needed for a successful career. The true twist that drew me in was the way the writer, a working model herself, touched on so many important issues including self image and self esteem.

Before you spend any money or time please help yourself and your career by learning the tools offered in this incredible hands on book. It is a huge help and money saver for my daughter and I as we are trying to launch her career in modeling. This book is making our lives much easier!

1.0 out of 5 stars Truth on the runway -- but nowhere else, August 28, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Truth On Modeling (Paperback)
While the author may have plenty of experience on the runway, she is not particularly well versed in other aspects of modeling -- areas which offer far more rewards and latitude for the aspiring model than the runway. Her print and advertising experience is far to meager to offer advice as an 'expert' in the industry. Many of the 'facts' presented in the book are misleading to the model just starting out in this complex arena.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Amazing Candid Expose, August 29, 2002
By
G. Patterson (Boston, Massachusetts) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Truth On Modeling (Paperback)
I found The Truth on Modeling by Erin Pinckney to be an amazing and honest resourse for young hopefuls to gain insight into getting started. It is so difficult for beginners to know where to begin and Ms Pinckney tells it like it is. The so called "glamor" of the industry overshadows the fundamentals needed to get started and this author seems to have her hand right on the pulse. I recommend the book for any parent who has a child interested in a modeling career.
