5.0 out of 5 stars Just as good as the first...if not better!, July 6, 2005

Honestly, this CD has not left the vicinity of my stereo since I purchased it a few months ago. I highly recommend this album to anyone who will listen to me. On this CD, Bryant expands her sound with other instrumentation, and the results are awesome. Standout selections are "Sit Down Servant" and the gorgeous title track.

5.0 out of 5 stars Precious Delivers The Truth, May 23, 2005
This review is from: The Truth (Audio CD)
Precious Bryant delivers the truth! This woman is the real deal and one of the last original blues artists that does what she does. Her debut realease, Fool Me Good, was released a few years back when she was 60 years old and won all sorts of awards...If you liked that title this is more of the same beautiful country blues. She adds some instrumentation on a few tracks and mixes a nice blend of originals, covers and traditional spirituals. If you like your blues real, raw, tender and moving then Precious is for you. Pick it up now-highly recommended--and that's the truth!

Precious's voice warms you up like a bottle of whiskey and a blanket on a cold winters day!! I am mesmerized by this album and can not take it out of my cd player. This is a must buy, I am now confused b/c both of her albums are so good I cant decide which one is the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Music for the rest of us, January 9, 2009

If you're interested in the bland generic stuff that passes for music these days, then you can stop reading now. But if you want "The Truth," then pick up Precious Bryant's CD. Her voice is real, her songs are live. A little blues, a little soul, and a whole lot of living went into these songs.

She did a great job with her style and this album was great. She took blues to another level. Simple sound and grit. This is a great example of keeping it simple and making something better.
