The Hanover Saints formed in 2001 out of the ashes of Christian hardcore pioneers, Anguish Unsaid. While Anguish Unsaid pumped out emotional, spirit-filled hardcore from an, at one time, 6-piece group, The Hanover Saints contend for a simpler approach. "Truth Rings Out" slams down 13 tracks of pure adrenaline that would make Jimmy Pursey proud. Not a second passes by on this album wherein the snare drum and power chords are not full force in the face of the listener. Now, when analytically scrutinized, many a shortcoming can be excavated from this Oi! record (as with all), but one such an album must be seen for what it is meant to be; and that is a rock-your-socks-off street punk extravaganza. Yes, the entire record is extremely repetitive, and yes, any mediocre musician could pull off these riffs, but that is the essence of Oi!. Ever since the Cockney Rejects first displayed "Oi! Oi! Oi!", this brand of punk rock has been associated with pub-moshing and football-chant choruses for good reason. Because that is the point of it all! Musically, these three spirit-filled boys strive for nothing more than an aggressively fun vehicle for their all-important message. Lyrically, however, These saints are miles away from being ashamed of their beliefs. "Ignition, I don't wanna live my life in contradiction". "I will find my way Tomorrow. You know cuts and scrapes will follow." There is no watering down to be found in these lyrics. The Saints hit every area on "Truth Rings Out". From boldly evangelical ("Can't Recognize The Face"), to rebuke of the ungodly ("Jolt The Press"), to the declaration of the hope that is inside ("The Promised Land").Read more ›

Pretty much a perfect CD. So if your one who's in the mood for a little oi! Then The Hanover Saints provide enough Oi! to cause those poseur Blink 182 kids crying for their mothers and poseur Good Charlotte friends. This is REAL punk baby. Check em out.

The Hanover Saints are a pure punk band. They have good fast music with catchy lyrics. Great for any fan of street punk or just punk in general. I have the privalege to live in the same city of these great guys. The members are some of the nicest guys in sacramento. Ive seen them live many, many times and every time they play better than the show before. They have a split cd with friends Whiskey Rebels(GMM Records), this full lenth on Facedown Records(one of the best labels out there), and another split with Shop11Phoenix. I strongly urge you to buy this c.d.

I recently bought this album on recommendation from Tobin B. from Flatfoot 56, after I had asked him to tell me the names of REAL punk bands (not Hawk Nelson!) that are believers. The Hanover Saints are awesome, with a cool message. These guys are more of an Oi! or a street punk band. The songs weren't always as speedy as I'd like (I'm a big hardcore punk/thrash punk fan), but compared to Katy Perry, these guys are plenty fast and they ROCK! Every song gets five stars from me.
