5.0 out of 5 stars Dare!! October 2, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Dwayne S. Joseph has delivered another best-selling book to masses. In Truth or Dare, we are introduced to Jess, a married mother of two who starts an online friendship with one of her classmates. What starts off as an innocent friendship ends in a deadly game of Truth & Dare.

I remember playing Truth or Dare as a kid, and the furthest we ever went was a kiss on the cheek. Mr. Joseph shows us what can happen when the game of Truth or Dare is played by adults. I love Dwayne S. Joseph's style of writing. He has a way of getting the readers attention from the first page, and keeping it to the end of the book.

Twenty percent of divorces involve Facebook and 80 percent of divorce lawyers have reported a spike in the number of cases that use social media for evidence, according to a survey by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. I was happy that Mr. Joseph tackled this subject of online "friendships". After reading this book, the question that floated in my head was.. "How well do I know the people I come in contact with online?"

I highly recommend this book. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Child's play September 27, 2011
Truth or dare is a child's game with almost no consequences as a child, but put that same game in the hands of adults and what ensues is Truth or Dare by Dwayne S. Joseph. A one day read, heart-racing thrill ride, and erotic escapade all wrapped into one, Truth or Dare is not a normal infidelity story. The characters and scenes pop with realism and passion, so much so that I hollered out several times (Oh Hell Nah, You got to be kidding, Dummy!...etc). It was such an entertaining and gripping book that I didn't want it to end. This is fiction at its best. What i liked most of the book is the moral of the story. I wont say anything because i don't want to give anything, kudos Dwayne on a job well. Can't wait for the next one to drop. Peace.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Game October 11, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Truth or Dare by Dwayne S. Joseph is the age old game that children innocently play. Truth or Dare? Pick truth and no matter what the other participant of the game asks, you have to answer, honestly and truthfully; pick dare and you have to do whatever they dare you to do. I am sure you can imagine how the game can get interesting and even twisted playing as an adult.

Jess Roberts has a good husband, two beautiful daughters and life is good, yet mundane. She cannot remember the last time her and her husband Esias has made love or for that matter made her feel desirable. That could be because of their hectic schedules. Not only is Jess working but she attends online classes in the evening, classes that she seems to be struggling in. Jayson Winston is a student in Jess' class. After he sends her an innocent enough message in the chat, the two seem to hit it off and begin chatting almost everyday. Although Jess knows it is wrong, she likes the attention, the flirting back and forth and even the game of truth or dare that Jason initiates. But this game is anything but innocent. Jess could have never imagined what the consequences from her actions were about to evoke.

Truth or Dare by Dwayne S. Joseph was a novel that delves into a subject most folks have participated in. That exchange between two strangers online, chatting and getting to know one another through chats. How do you really know someone from just chatting online? The story was good, yet I just felt it was too rushed. Especially the ending. I also would have liked to read more in depth about Jayson's character to really understand why he acted the way he did. A lesson for all to learn from reading this book: be very careful who you are chatting with online, you never know what kind of person they are portraying to be.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Dare You to Read this Amazing Book! October 2, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
You've probably played truth or dare before, but I will bet that it was nothing like the game in this story! Be ready to sit down and read this book from cover to cover. It will be hard to put it down so don't even try!

Jess started chatting with Jayson online because of an on-line class they were taking together. What just started out as chats became a truth or dare game that got more intense than you can imagine.

Dwayne S. Joseph totally got the way that Jess would feel. She was afraid that what she was doing was bad. She knew she shouldn't be doing it and should just quit, but hey it's harmless, right? The anticipation of their meeting was just making my heart race! It knew it was going to be HOTTT, and it sure was! I was so wrapped up in the story that I could feel exactly what Jess felt, nervous yet excited, wrong, but also very right.

Jayson is a character that you won't forget! I like the fact that he doesn't require his woman to have a perfect body. I got totally sucked into his game, not expecting what happened at all. I don't want to say too much about him, but just know that he is unforgettable!

This was one amazing book with such memorable characters! The writing is just so descriptive! The game of truth of dare in this book just got so intense that I was on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what was going to happen next. From the time I started this book until the very end, I was hooked like an addict! What a great mix of drama, thrills, sex, and ..... well.......I won't tell you any more. Just trust me. You need to read this one! Not only is it entertaining, but it deals with issues that are current and realistic. It really makes you think about who could be lurking out there online.

More About the Author

Dwayne S. Joseph began his writing career at the age of thirteen. Commandeering his parent's computer, he sat for hours on end creating dramatic stories of fiction that earned him the "best story teller in the Joseph household" moniker. He then went on to win second place in the National Scholastic Writing Competition during his senior year in high school, for a short story he wrote, titled "Playtime" (A story that he does plan to develop into a children's tale someday soon!) The novels at thirteen and the short story in his senior year all helped to propel him on the destined path to becoming a published author at the age of 27, with the release of his first novel The Choices Men Make.

With ten drama-filled novels under his belt, including The Womanizers, Never Say Never, If Your Girl Only Knew, In Too Deep, Til' It's Gone, and short story contributions to four anthology collections, most notably, the Essence best seller, Around The Way Girls, Dwayne has consistently set out to entertain his readers with scenarios and characters that they love and love to hate.

It's all about growth for Mr. Joseph. He strives to grow and improve with each novel because he feels that's what the readers deserve. And that's just what he is determined to do as he is now taking a walk down a much different literary path with the release of his latest two novels, Home Wrecker and Betrayal--darker novels filled with more suspense, more intensity, more violence, more mystery and sex.

With half of his life spent in Brooklyn, New York, the other half spent in Harrisburg, PA, Dwayne now calls Maryland his home where he lives with his wife and three children, where they never fail to wear their New York Giants jerseys every Sunday during the football season! He is currently hard at work on his next novel for 2011!
