I purchased this seatpost for my Specialized FSR to replace the short 270mm seatpost that came with the bike. This 400mm post is tall, has markings on the side help dial in the perfect height and features a two piece floating bracket secured by two 6mm allen bolts which can be tightened to 10nm.
Mine has a 25mm offset, pulling me further back from handle bars, positively shifting my geometry.
The difference between this seatpost and the more expensive ones such as Thomson Elite, is that this has a pressed seat fitting as opposed to a one piece machined unit. It isn't made of 9000 Al, which might cause fatigue years down the road, the inside of the post is rounded unlike the Thomson which is elliptic to allow for less weight and greater strength.
If you have spent lots of money on a titanium or carbon bike frame and a premium on lightweight components you may want to spend the extra $40-80 on a matching seat post as the weight can vary relatively significantly.

400mm is long. I put it on a Diamondback BMX frame. (aluminum) The 20" frame required a 27.2mm post; a diameter usually found on mountain/road bikes. I'm very happy with it. Very light.

i didnt notice it was 400mm long but a pipe cutter worked fine for that, otherwise its a nicely made stem, easy to adjust.

This seatpost fit my set back perfectly and really helped to improve my position in my bike.

This seatpost is great.
The dual head adjustment system can be a little cumbersome, but it's worth the extra effort.
