5.0 out of 5 stars This Music Will Never Die, Not Ever, February 19, 2010

Who knew when this record came out that James Brown would go on to be such a superstar and now five decades and a year later and they don't make it anymore. Maybe all this stuff is available on compilation albums. Maybe the powers that be don't think it sells enough copies anymore. I don't know. But what I do know is that this is one mighty fine record. This music will never die. Not ever!

Just listen to "I Want You So Bad", and you'll see the kind of artist James Brown was and was to become. Lord, Lord the way his voice cracks in this song, you can feel his tears, taste the passion. "Messing with the Blues" is a number that has me seeing Howlin' Wolf in my mind. And it's hard to believe "Try Me", came out before all those other wonderful Motown Records. Was James Brown pointing the way.

This Record is Number 5 on my list of the Best Thirteen Records of 1959.

I happen to like most of James Brown's music, from the begining to the end of his career. This is a very nice album,if you like his earlier music.
