Book Description

What happens in Vegas...can lead to romance.

It took one wild night for Sergeant Jeremy Addison to realize that Vegas? Was a bad idea.

Bloody. Bruised. Dehydrated. Abandoned in the desert, and left to stagger down the road. The only way this leave could get worse was if his savior was his ex-best friend's sister...and the girl he'd loved since childhood.

The last person Erica expected to find on the roadside was her high school crush. She hadn't seen Jeremy in seven years—ever since the night he said he loved her, and she ran away. Losing him then had been a mistake, but wanting him now could be catastrophic if he discovered the secret that chased every other man from her life. But with a tall, tattooed Marine determined to prove he's always been faithful, can Erica resist his advances...or will she surrender ground and give love a try?

Praise for Try Me:
If you enjoy love stories like me this is definitely the book for you. It's amazing and it had me swooning a whole lot throughout. Jeremy is so a new book boyfriend for me and you have no idea how excited I am to find out this is the first in the Take A Chance series.
Five star review from KBooks
Diane has once again written a deep and wonderful love story involving two people you can't help but root for. Try Me is a sweet, heart-warming story about two people that were just meant to be together trying to find their way back to each other.
Five star review from Kindle and Me
I read this all in one sitting, and stayed up to 1:30 a.m. to finish it! I loved the hero, Jeremy, completely. A boy from the wrong side of the tracks and from the worst possible family background who feels he's not good enough for the women he's loved since childhood, a woman who now has secrets she believes makes her unworthy as well.
Five star review from Bestselling author Laura Kaye
When an author causes this kind of reaction in a reader, I say, that is a pretty darn good author, and on this case Diane Alberts delivers and delivers pretty darn good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Try Me, Buy Me, Keep Me Forever June 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
That's my opinion on the ebook novella--though, really, Jeremy at one point cooks her breakfast shirtless... I'm just saying. Hot abs. Cooking Bacon. Then, the dog tags. That's the trifecta, ladies. There's nowhere to go from there.

As for the rest of it, this was Diane Albert's best book yet, and I really enjoyed her previous novellas. The back and forth candid dialogue between Erica and Jeremy felt natural and was hilarious at times. I liked that they both came to the relationship with scars--both literally and metaphorically. The most crushing past you can have with someone is to have given them your heart and had them walk away it. I liked that in this story it was Jeremy who'd put it all on the line in their shared past. It gave him a complexity. He is this super tough Marine who she finds half-dead on the side of the road right after getting beaten up, but inside he's sweet and tender and broken up over her.

I loved the epilogue. Having the opportunity to see their shared step toward love and healing was working out, despite all the obstacles, was awesome. This was the type of book you finish with a nice satisfied sigh.

This is one of my favorite scenes:

"Every girl needs at least one bad boy in her life at some point."

"Are you still in that phase?" He straightened, his movements lazy and powerful, and tugged a lock of her hair. "I can play the part to perfection. Even got the background and tattoos to prove it. And I come with references. Cops count, right?"

She burst into laughter. "Sorry. I grew out of that a long time ago."

"Then I retract my previous statement, and request that the judge strike it from the record. I'm a good guy, I swear."

***

Try it. Buy it. Keep him...uhh it forever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Passion & Romance, What's not to love? June 2, 2012

Format:Kindle Edition
Entangled Publishing has completely changed my opinion about novellas. They really are perfect for when you're looking for a quick read, especially if it's romance.
A few weeks ago, I read Divinely Ruined by Diane Alberts. It was the first book that I had read that was written by Diane and I absolutely loved it. Try Me was just as good and in some ways, even better.

Try Me is the story of Jeremy and Erica, two people who have loved each other forever but lost their chance (or so they thought)..until 7 years later when, call it fate/destiny or co-incidence, something brings them together again.

This book has everything from friendship, childhood crushes and unrequited love to tragedy, insecurities and some serious emotional turmoil.

Diane has once again written a deep and wonderful love story involving two people you can't help but root for.

Jeremy and Erica are from different worlds. Sure, they were close as children but Jeremy has had a rough life while Erica's was mostly smooth sailing. Yet, despite their differences, Erica's the one girl who has always been on Jeremy's mind, the one who makes him wear his heart on his sleeve.

Their shared past, even if not exactly romantic, just made the chemistry between them all the more intense and I loved that. Although individually they both have their issues, together, Jeremy's raw emotions somehow balance Erica's doubts and fears. Believe me, sparks were flying.

Try Me is a sweet, heart-warming story about two people that were just meant to be together trying to find their way back to each other.

5.0 out of 5 stars Short, Angst-Filled Read! May 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This was yet another fantastic short novel by Diane Alberts! Her ability to put so much emotion into a book that takes only an hour or two to read is impeccable.

Jeremy is a wounded soul. His father was an abusive alcoholic who committed murder and Jeremy was tagged as the boy on the wrong side of the tracks. He had been betrayed by his only close friend and lost the woman he loved in process. He doesn't do serious relationships and for the most part doesn't see himself as worthy of anything resembling a serious relationship. I wanted to reach through my Kindle and hug him because he story made me so sad (the abs didn't hurt either!).

Erica is the girl that got away, the girl he loved but didn't love him back and the girl that was just to good to be with the son of a convicted murderer or so Jeremy thought. Erica was wounded herself, having gone through a traumatic experience herself and believes that no one could possibly love her.

This book is about fate, taking a chance and second chances. What would be the chances of the one car in the desert when Jeremy needs saving belonging to the one woman he has ever loved? Is it possible that what he has thought for the last several years is not correct and she does love him? How far should he go to not let this chance pass him by? Can there really be a second chance for Jeremy and Erica? This was one of those books where I sat there and literally wanted to yell at the Kindle and tell Jeremy not to walk away and to keep pushing her. Both characters had a painful background and I wanted nothing more for them to find happiness!

Diane Alberts is truly amazing! She has a talent for creating books with realistic dialogue and descriptors that grab my heart. She can create a complete storyline in a short read which can be very hard to do! This book did not disappoint and is my favorite Diane Alberts' book yet! I can't wait to read more of this series:)

The book was very predictable. Didn't love the story line and not very much to keep my interest. I was bored and it seemed too simplistic.

More About the Author

Diane Alberts has always been a dreamer with a vivid imagination, but it wasn't until 2011 that she put her pen where her brain was, and became a published author. Since receiving her first contract offer, she has yet to stop writing. Though she lives in the mountains, she really wishes she was surrounded by a hot, sunny beach with crystal clear water. She lives in Northeast Pennsylvania with her four kids, a husband, a cat, and a Senegal parrot. In the rare moments when she's not writing, she can usually be found hunched over one knitting project or another.

She is a multi-published, bestselling author with Entangled Publishing, Swoon Romance, and Decadent Publishing. She has, as of this date, four books with Entangled Publishing, one book with Swoon Romance, and five older books with Decadent Publishing. Her February release with Entangled Publishing, ON ONE CONDITION, hit #18 on the Barnes and Noble Bestseller List, and TRY ME hit #76 on Amazon. Her Swoon Romance novella, CAPTIVATED BY YOU, hit #31 on the Barnes and Noble bestseller list. Her goal is to write so many fantastic books that even a non-romance book fan will know her name.
