This review is from: Trys (Audio CD)
Even though the only remaining member from the Ys line-up of Il Balletto is the keyboard player (I keep forgetting his name, although I believe it is Gianni Leone), the band's sound remains quite similar to their days of glory. The vocals are just as good and the other musicians can really hold their own, although the star of the show is obviously the keyboard player/singer. It's quite interesting to hear Il Balletto experiment with a three piece line-up as it allows comparisons to other power prog-rock trios such as Rush, ELP and late 70's King Crimson. The sound is fresh and powerful, and although it is not really in the same place as Ys, it's distinctly italian sound will surely please fans of Balletto and italian prog alike.
