5.0 out of 5 stars No bites on my children!
I was definitely very dubious, but this really seems to be working. We have 4 kids, and lots of family over, and I spread it around the places that we frequent in the yard (pool) along the perimeter, and we have had about 3 mosquito bites in 3 weeks. Total! Usually it is about 30 bites/person in SOuth Carolina, but not so far!!! I am defintely recommending ths product!

2.0 out of 5 stars Should be called Dr. T's gnat repelling granules
Really hoped that this product would repel the asian tiger mosquitos that are common in northern VA. It did nothing for the mosquitos, but it did seem to repel the gnats that are a frequent annoyance in the grass. I gave two stars as a decent gnat repeller, but it would get zero stars as a mosquito repeller.

If you've tried every spray that exist and are tired of burning torches and other candles, this is surprising effective. Seriously. The initial oder is a little strong but subsides after one day. I live in central Texas (mosquito heaven) and this product was still working even after we had a number of rain storms during this summer.

sprinkle as directed and the mosquitoes are repelled. We didn't notice any odor and I don't know how this vendor ships; but, the product is good. And we live right on a lake in Florida, which is a real test of product.

I love this product. Sure, the smell isn't the best, but it mellows out in a couple of days, and keeps the pests at bay. I live in a swamp, so I am pretty impressed.

Excellent stuff for use as dry sprinkle on the porches for keeping mosquitos away. It was useless against the onslaught of flies, and most other bugs, and I PAINfully found out wasps do NOT like this stuff. I tolerate wasps if they are well behaved, because they eat mosquitos. I got stung the other day because they did not like this product. I was refreshing my front porch with the product and the wasps went nutz.
NOTE: once the granules get wet, they seem to be far less effective. This might explain why use in the grass was pointless. Beyond that, I will buy this again, should the buggies be as bad as they have been this year!

1.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Useless, August 28, 2011
This review is from: Dr. T's DT336 Mosquito Repelling Granules 5 Pounds (Lawn & Patio)
This product is a complete waste of money. IT DOES NOT & WILL NOT WORK. I take care of nearly 100 lawns, and have several years of experience in lawn applications. This product goes down as one of the worst I've ever used. The active ingredients make up only 1.6% of what you're buying. So what is the rest of the "mosquito repellant" consist of? Fuller's earth, also known as CLAY. So, if you want to spend money on putting clay in your yard go for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spray at bottom of shrubs., July 11, 2011
This review is from: Dr. T's DT336 Mosquito Repelling Granules 5 Pounds (Lawn & Patio)
Hello all. This is the same product that lawn services use, unless you choose to have spray system installed for big $$$. Mosquito larvae are mostly found in moist areas near the ground in the lower hanging branches or leaves of bushes and other landscaping so make sure you concentrate this in those areas. Also, (and It might be difficult to do), put some down along the perimeter of your spa 'if' there is space between it and the stone/concrete it is set into. If you have a deck you should also apply it between the boards. It will not harm your landscaping so get it down near the moist ground where they breed and lay eggs. I live in San Antonio and my wife is a 'skeeter' magnet. This stuff works - and it works fast. The smell isn't as bad as some posts describe and it dissipates in less than 24 hours. Good luck.

1.0 out of 5 stars Repels mosquito's? Don't think so. Makes your lawn smell funky? Absolutely!, July 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered this product upon getting fed up with the mosquito problems we have in Virginia. I ordered four 5 lbs. containers of this stuff and spread it out as described on the instructions. I covered my front lawn and the rear area of my lawn including under the deck and around area's where my family hangs out. This product says it even starts to work after 1 hour! One hour came and went. Two hours came and went. 3 DAYS came and went. We still have a lot of of mosquito's coming around, only now my yard has a funky odor due to the Dr. T's granules. If you are in the mood to waste some money on a product to make your lawn smell funky, by all means, purchase this product. If you're looking to repel mosquito's, buy something else and let me know if it works.

There is a small pond (maybe 25' across) about 100' from our back deck. In the evenings, mosquitos took control, chasing us inside. Tossing a few handfuls of these granules out onto the pond does the trick. According to the literature, they are not poisonous to other animals. My only worry is how I am affecting the ecosystem in the pond. I love the frogs. Do frogs eat mosquito larvae? If so, am I starving the frogs? I don't know.
