3.0 out of 5 stars Half Good, Half Not so Good
I love CLAMP and Tsubasa but this volume didn't really do it for me. The ending to the Ashura world was long and drawn out (but still well done) and the racing world......Yeah that arc was just sort of pointless in my opinion. It was stuck in there for all the CCS fangirls/fanboys to get excited about because classic "Tomoyo Costume Making/Video Camera Tottering Action"...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, but nothing new yet!, September 23, 2006

This volume finally ends the Shara/Shura arc after three volumes or so, but if you've been following the anime, then don't be expecting the next big arc, because you've already seen what's coming - the next arc is Piffle World. It is nice to have proper closure to the Shara arc, though. That, and the end of the world looks so much better on paper than on the screen, I think.

I've loved Tsubasa for years, and this volume is no exception. Great stuff whether you've ever loved a CLAMP series or not.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ashura and Yasha are magic!, August 24, 2009
This review is from: Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Volume 10 (Paperback)
Wow, the first part of this volume was magical. I literally cried my eyes out for Ashura and Yasha, when their story was revealed and then later, when Ashura found out that his wish couldn't be fulfilled. This was the first time that "Tsubasa" delved into the gay/yaoi romance openly and it was so sad that it broke my heart. The second part of the volume, the big race, didn't really catch my interest, though. The best scene of that part was Kurogane and Fai's little heart-to-heart about their respective lords. Makes me wonder what Fai's hiding...

The artwork is still gorgeous though and I have to give that points.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a Step Forward for Sakura, November 9, 2006
This review is from: Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Volume 10 (Paperback)
Well, I have to tell you, as much as I love this series, the one thing that's irked me ever so slightly is Sakura's passivity, especially after the gutsy, caring, athletic, bubbly Sakura Kinomoto of Cardcaptor Sakura fame. It's less that I consider her a wimp than I feel like since she's unable to stay awake for long she hasn't had much of a chance to show her courage.

This finishes up the story of Shura and Shara as well as the gods Ashura-o and Yasha-o, and I particularly enjoyed it as something unexpected and touching simultaneously. Then the group travels off to a new world - one of modernity that is arguably even futuristic, what with its "Dragonflies," small aircraft piloted by a single person that run on batteries but are more affected by wind and weather than anything else. For the first time, Syaoran is the one to wake up last, only to find Sakura and Kurogane off to buy parts for their own Dragonflies that they plan to enter in a race to win one of the feathers. And finally, FINALLY, Sakura gets to participate - this will be a race in which all four of them are entered, not just three. Albeit, Sakura isn't necessarily a skilled pilot... but hey, she's been given a chance!

At any rate, I love this series, and if you've enjoyed it thus far, you won't be disappointed in this continuation.
