DRAGONFLY BATTLE

All is not well on Piffle World. The magical land’s most popular sporting event–a race for lightweight aircraft called dragonflies–seems to have been rigged by one of the contestants. But winning the competition is the only way Princess Sakura and her friends can recover one of her precious and powerful memory feathers. The five friends are determined to cross the finish line first, but the cheating is taking its toll–even Fai is out of the running! Can the travelers still win the race and discover who’s behind the booby traps before it’s too late?

Editorial Reviews

About the Author

CLAMP is a group of four women who have become one of the most popular manga artists in the world - Satsuki Igarashi, Mick Nekoi, Mokona Apapa and Nanase Ohkawa. They started out as doujnishi (fan comics) creators, but their skill and craft brought them to the attention of publishers very quickly. Their first work from a major publisher was RG Veda, but their first mass success was with Magic Knight Rayearth. From there, they went on to write many series, including Cardcaptor Sakura and Chobits, two of the most popular manga available. Like many Japanese manga artists, they prefer to avoid the spotlight, and little is known about them personally. CLAMP is also the author of Tsubasa, another title brought to you by Tanoshimi. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

More About the Author

Clamp, stylized as CLAMP, is an all-female Japanese manga artist group that formed in the mid 1980s. Many of the group's manga series are often adapted into anime after release. It consists of their leader Nanase Ohkawa, who provides much of the storyline and screenplay for all their works and adaptations of those works respectively, and three artists whose roles shift for each series: Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi. Almost 100 million Clamp tankōbon copies have been sold worldwide as of October 2007.

3.0 out of 5 stars Better than vol. 11 but still disappointing, August 23, 2009
This review is from: Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Volume 12 (Paperback)
I'm so glad that the race arc is over. I think that it was unnecessarily drawn out, it could've been handled in one book. This one had more ties to the main plot but it still wasn't up to the standard of the previous volumes. The best parts were, of course, Fai and Kurogane again. I could read a manga just about those two!

4.0 out of 5 stars and the saga continues....and continues..., February 28, 2007
This review is from: Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Volume 12 (Paperback)
Is anybody else annoyed it took THREE books for the gang to get through one world? Okay, book 12...where is the plot going? Will the short-glimpsed bad guys EVER get explained or actually confront the gang? I'm hoping book 13 will finally pick up the pace. Yes this book was good. it wraps up the Piffle world with some fun with Tomoyo and Kuro-tan but really nothing really happens... it ends with the gang leaving to another world (sound familar?) This is an excellent series but i'm started to get tired of the meandering.
