A WORLD OF MODERN MECHA AND MAGIC

Syaoran, Fai, Kurogane, and Mokona venture to the Hanshin Republic to find one of the missing pieces of Sakura’s memory, transformed into magically powerful feathers. There, Syaoran meets his “Kudan”: a fierce wolf-spirit whose fiery power mirrors Syaoran’s personal strength. But with foes like a pop idol who sings words of pain, Syaoran’s hunt for feathers is no child’s game! Even if he finds the feather, will Sakura ever wake up from her magical sleep? And since Syaoran bargained away their relationship in a pact with a witch, can their love ever return to the way it was?

Includes special extras after the story!

More About the Author

Clamp, stylized as CLAMP, is an all-female Japanese manga artist group that formed in the mid 1980s. Many of the group's manga series are often adapted into anime after release. It consists of their leader Nanase Ohkawa, who provides much of the storyline and screenplay for all their works and adaptations of those works respectively, and three artists whose roles shift for each series: Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi. Almost 100 million Clamp tankōbon copies have been sold worldwide as of October 2007.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful:
5.0 out of 5 stars The Long Road of Tsubasa, March 18, 2006
This review is from: Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Volume 2 (Paperback)
Even though it has been quite a few months since I have read Tsubasa, I totally disagree with what the other reviewers have written. Yes, Clamp does focus on cameos with characters from past manga that they have written. Yes, Clamp does focus a tremendous amount of time on the character's fighting techniques. But, if these pieces of the manga were left out, the story would not tie together effectively.
The major part of the story is the characters traveling to different worlds and fighting to get back Sakura's feathers that make up her memories. In the meantime, the group will meet people from everyone's past, but these people will be different from the people in their own world. This was the case when Syaoran saw Sakura's brother in another world. Cases such as these keep the reader on his/her toes as to what will happen next.
Another major part of the story is the scars and pain that everyone carries with them. Syaoran and Sakura's relationship is an example of this. When Syraoran is forced to realize that Sakura, the one he loves the most, will never remember their childhood together, it is a pain that someone can feel empathy for. When readers are exposed to these two driving forces of Clamp storyline, they cannot help but be drawn to it.
