This was the quintessential sounding metal album of the early 80's. Total class! Every song is excellent. Every song sounds unique on it's own showcasing every form of hard rock and metal at the time. If I were to compare I would say this album is like a mixed bowl of Classic Van Halen, Y & T, Loudness, with hints of thrash just before the "scene" started. And, yes, these guys were from California. The vocalist, Doug Denton, doesn't remind me of anyone in particular and really hits the emotions on each song. If you like classic early 80's metal at its best you have to have this one. I overpayed for this when it came out but now you can get it at a decent price. What are you waiting for???

An old favorite that took years to track down on CD. Old school 80's heavy metal with a touch of the hair metal that invaded radios everywhere. Not for everyone, but certainly an addition to the collections of fans of that scene. "Fire Water" and "the Runaround" are the best representation of what this band has to offer. Hair metal before there was hair metal.

I bought this album back in 1983 right when it came out! There was this chic who worked the record dept at a famous guitar store that shall remain nameless and she used to guide me on what to buy and what not. This album came highly recommended and she was absolutely right!!! I've been trying to find this for literally 12 years. I wish there was a data base that you can go to and see what's been released on cd, is there such a thing? That way I could've known that it was available six years ago. Anyway, props for someone finally releasing this on cd. I concur with the previous review as to their sound and the singer has an amazing voice!!! Highly recommend to anyone, especially someone tracing the roots of classic American metal. this band should have been huge but for whatever reason they fell through the cracks. I'm aware they released another cd in the late 80's but if my memory serves me it wasn't as good due to the singer no longer being with them. Pick this one up before it's outta print!
