4.0 out of 5 stars Great toy
We bought this for our daughter when she was 6 months old (she's one now), and I believe we'll be seeing it in her bathtub for at least another year, if not longer. It's a great mish-mash of things to play with.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun on dry land! Sinks in the water!
My son got this when he turned 2. Now 2.5! We had a pool party and quickly discovered this boat dosen't float! His cousin had alot of fun going to the bottom of the pool to get it. The toys that come with it are nice but we had to take the fishing pole away because he kept getting hurt (swinging it around). He uses the scrubbers in the bath to clean his toes and finger...

We bought this for our daughter when she was 6 months old (she's one now), and I believe we'll be seeing it in her bathtub for at least another year, if not longer. It's a great mish-mash of things to play with.
The cups are terrific (and they have nice soft rubbery rims for your little teethers), one is solid, and the two others have different sieves on the bottoms so baby can play pouring games. They also stack on each other, and there is a place to fit them on top of the boat so they make a smokestack!
The fisherman floats in his life ring, and you can also sit him on the top of the boat.
The fish are fun to play with for an infant (one is a comb, and another has a nailbrush on it, so they can help with grooming too!), and when baby is older, they can be fished for with the fishing pole.
The paddle wheel on the boat itself can be wound up, and then the boat will propel itself a short distance.
And when bathtime is over, everything fits neatly into the boat for storage.
I've tossed the whole kit and kaboodle in the dishwasher for cleaning without a problem, so it's easy to clean up if your little one has an accident in the tub.

The only complaint I have with it is the portholes on the boat are set a little low, and it fills too easily, causing the boat to sink. This is really minor -- Baby barely even notices. But I do!

Even with that, though, I would buy this again, and will probably buy it as a gift for other families.

5.0 out of 5 stars If You Only Get One Bath Toy..., January 5, 2007

Until recently, we had only a handful of rubber ducks for our almost 2-year old daughter to play with in the tub. Now she has her boat, and all of its accessories, and just loves it! She asks for it by name, "Boat! boat!" The smaller toys fit neatly into the boat, which is great if you have limited space in the bathroom. This is several toys in one, and I can see our daughter enjoying it for a long time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun., January 8, 2007
This review is from: Tubby Tug Boat in Clear Packaging (Toy)
My 2.5 y/o really likes all of the different toys that come with the boat (fish, Captain, cups...). Provides endless entertainment. Only con - the portholes in the hull of the boat are too low and the boat fills with water and sinks real easily.

I bought this for my daughter who is 2 1/2 years old and she loves it. I had read the other reviews and was concerned about the open portholes causing sinking - but the boat that I received has closed portholes. Looks like the designers have fixed that problem!
This is a very fun toy for a kid who has outgrown the basic baby bath toys. My daughter loves that all the things can be stored inside the boat - and is always taking them in and out. The stacking cups with drain holes are a fun toy all by themselves - so is the fishing set. I think this is well worth the money. Fun for the kiddie pool and the bath!

The toys that come with it are nice but we had to take the fishing pole away because he kept getting hurt (swinging it around). He uses the scrubbers in the bath to clean his toes and finger nails. He pushes the boat around on the carpet and seems to like it. WISH IT WOULD FLOAT!

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute toy, August 11, 2009

The girls seem to like it. There is a lot going on with this toy which provides endless entertainment for my twin one-year-olds. I think they will enjoy fishing with the hook when they are a bit older, but for now they like playing with the fish & swinging the fishing rod around like a numchuck (sp?). The cups are good teething toys as the rims are textured. The little boat moves if the propeller is wound, and there is a locking mechanism in case you want to pre-wind it and let your baby hit the release. The grooming tools - brush, comb - are a nice touch. The octopus comb looks a lot like PacMan. :) The only negative is that the life preserver doesn't float - sinks like a stone. Whose idea was that? Otherwise, a great toy. Not BPA free, fyi.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Tub Toy, February 4, 2009

I got this for my 1 and 3 year old boys for Christmas. It's everything you would want in a tub toy. They have fixed all the problems that other reviewers have mentioned. The portholes are filled in and the life preserver floats. The cups are the favorite, but they love to fish and comb their hair, they play with everything. And I love the way it all fits into the boat and I just flip it upside down to get it to dry out. Just a hint, you can pick it up at Target for a lot cheaper then Amazon;)

My son loves this tug boat. It has gotten him through many baths and still holds its entertainment value. He especially likes the stacking cups and counting the fish. My only complaints is that the boat does sink easily. Other than that, it is a perfect tub toy!

3.0 out of 5 stars sinking boat, October 6, 2007

We bought this bath toy for our son when he was 1, he is now 2. He really enjoyed playing with the toys that came with the boat. However, he gets very frustrated with the boat itself. It fills with water and is constantly sinking. Over and over again he would become frustrated, so we put it away. At times he still plays with the other items, but we got this specifically for the boat. So for us, this item was a disappointment.

3.0 out of 5 stars Rusting tub toy, July 20, 2011

I purchased this set for my toddler about 8 months ago. He really likes boats in the bathtub but has a lot of trouble with this one. It is very heavy & fills with water/sinks frequently which frustrates him. The entire top removes from the boat or there is a hinged opening that can be flipped back to add or remove toys from inside.

My son likes to "catch" the fish using the fishing poles & the cups are fun to fill & drain since they have different types of holes in the bottom and drain at different rates or can be stacked into a tour on the side of the tub.

Unfortunately the toy has some metal screws holding the top piece & hinged door together that rusted. I expect bathtub toys to be designed to be wet so I was disappointed in this toy.
