4.0 out of 5 stars Only Worth $19.99, August 4, 2003

This is a very strange racing game. It is based in the future
with you driving a racer floating on air. Graphics are not that
good, however what can you expect from a game that retails for
$19.99. In a strange way this racer is enjoyable in mostly
the multiplayer mode. If you enjoy racing games like I do,
it is a good game for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT futuristic racer, October 16, 2004
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Tube Slider (Video Game)
This one of the best futuristic racers I've ever played.
As a fan of a genre with an extremely limited selection of titles, I naturally jumped at the chance to buy one new for twelve dollars. It was probably discontinued quickly, as I had never heard of it, which is too bad because for an intro price of 19.99 it is a great buy.
I suppose I was a bit overboard with entering 5 stars, as the extra craft you can unlock by beating the game a simply a redesign/ different paint job of the craft that you beat the game with. Also, you can't unlock the final boss, which is too bad because that ship is beautiful.
On the plus side, you get to race with one of the craft from the Ikaruga game! AWESOME. That coupled with an excellent physics engine are worth twenty bucks alone, in my opinion.
The levels aren't insanely hard if not impossible compared with some of the F-zero series (especially the new one), and while some of the levels require a bit of memorization, gameplay can mostly be based on skill and reflex.
This is not a shooter, though as one of the descriptions implies. Instead, the "rockets" it refers to are some kind of energy refueling device that sucks away an opponents boost energy while you are drafting directly behind him. This is also the only strategy you can employ against the last stage boss, by the way. Stay behind him, directly behind him, until about halfway into the last lap. Then boost around him to victory!
You'll definitely get your money's worth out of this highly underrated game.
