This book says it has 18 quilts but what it really has is 6 quilts to make and they show it done in 3 different fabric choices. So 3 X 6 = 18.

I did like the quilts they had in there, it just wasn't as many as I was hoping for.

The problem is that you can't see inside before purchasing.

This book has wonderful children's quilts that will mean something to the child. All of the quilts in this book can serve as topics for educational conversation with the child, e.g., the one I call the "shape" quilt. It is a row quilt with different shapes in each row. The quilts are bright and gave me fresh ideas after looking at so many of the 'same old thing' children's quilt books.

The only drawback is that the instructions are not the greatest; but I am an experienced quilter, so that is not a problem for me.

Anyone wanting to make cute, interactive quilts that children will play with & enjoy, this book is for you. The quilts are fun for little ones, like the Parade of Shapes quilt. It is a row quilt with different shapes in each row, perfect for learning colors & shapes. You will love the Sleepover wall quilt, with rows of little beds, each with its own pillow and mini quilt that opens to cover the little dolls made to go with the quilt. Boys will love the Frogs quilt or the Carousel, Teddy Bear Party, Barnyard, with it's row of barns and windmills and little removable farm animals, or the Tooth Fairy is appropriate for boys or girls. Pure & Simple would be great as a floor mat for playing Legos or other games. There are many more fun & colorful quilts to inspire you in this lovely book.

I know you will be inspired as well from all the abstract, colorful quilts that are in this book as well as the ones detailed above.

Enjoy!!!

The patterns in this book are so lovely and offer many options to create a quilt with your little ones in mind.

My first project was the doll bed quilt. Once all of the cutting was completed, assembling the quilt was fun. The doll pattern given was a little awkward, so I chose to make a doll from another pattern. The completed project was so beautiful that one of my friends went out and purchased this book as well.

I own hundreds of quilt pattern books, templates and quilt patterns. This book is in my "precious patterns" stack.

You will want to make every quilt in this book! I know I sure do. Wonderful illustrations and instructions for most skill levels. These projects are perfect for the quilter who would like to move on from the wall hanging and table runner size quilts. I tend to hand quilt most but these quilts could be machine quilted as they are a manageable size for most standard sewing machines. This book was a great find for me as I have 5 grandchildren who think all I do is quilt and bake cookies!
