If you're looking for a unique approach to business/self-improvement type books, look no further. TUESDAY MORNING COACHING by David Cottrell is a refreshing change. Even though it is written in the first person, the presentation is more like being a "fly on the wall" as the reader witnesses an 8 step coaching program as it is being taught.

The lessons taught here are, at once, simple, actionable and applicable to a wide variety of professions. I do want to stress that if you are a heavy reader, you've probably seen most of these ideas before. You will see similarity to Covey's "7 Habits" or Andy Andrew's "7 Decisions" and you might run across some of Brian Tracy's lessons of goal setting and you may recognize a Jim Rohn quote here and there, but the point is, these lessons are effective. They work. David Cottrell has presented these lessons in such as way as to make for a quick, easy read that you will profit from immediately.

The conversational style of Cottrell's writing makes this a very enjoyable read. This is the first book I have read from this author but it definitely will not be the last. I read a lot of books in this genre each year. It's very refreshing to find a writer who can take things I may have read before and give them new meaning and impact. I highly recommend this book.

This valuable, helpful book by popular leadership author David Cottrell spells out in concrete detail "eight simple truths" to follow to achieve career and life success. These truths are self-evident and you can benefit from their presentation. Nevertheless, Cottrell errs on the side of the sentimental. This work over-references his other books and features dialogue perhaps more illustrative than credible. But the concepts remain worthy and solid, and Cottrell presents them so anyone can understand and apply them. getAbstract recommends this rapid-fire read to those who want to organize their life and thoughts and who can smile through a bit of hyperbole.

I think we tend to believe that the most successful people are blessed with some innate talent, have caught some huge lucky breaks or have broken some very complex code which led to their success.

In Tuesday Morning Coaching, David Cottrell, the author paints a very different picture of what it takes to be successful. He gives us "eight simple truths to boost our career and life." According to Mr. Cottrell, "...success can be created by defining and living by some simple truths ... truths that, individually, may not help much, but when put together, they become powerful. And these simple truths are available to everyone."

So if you are looking for a simple, easy to follow path that will lead to success, this book offers one of the best around. While the concepts are simple, most people will probably not appreciate the impact that following these eight simple truths can have on their lives.

One of the truths is "Knowledge is power". Mr. Cottrell points out that reading one outstanding self-development book per month, about ten pages per day, would put the reader in the top one percent of the non-fiction readers in the world. I believe that being in the top one percent of the world in any worthwhile category is an accomplishment to strive for. And this is certainly within the reach of the majority of people. It would be very easy to do. Yet most people plead they don't have time to read but waste countless hours watching television.

The point of the book is to give you some very simple tools everyone can use to boost their career and life. The tools are certainly not hard. They are not expensive. Almost anyone should be able to do them. It will take a certain amount of focused effort to put the truths to work for you.

This is a great book to read as a group and not necessarily just for management. His books are easy to read and don't take up much time with short and to the point chapters. Made you think!

TUESDAY MORNING COACHING has been such a refreshing book in a refreshing style, I am amazed after reading it recently. I used to see this book laying around in my doctor's office from long time, but never thought it would be such a wonderful reading once I started reading it eventually! Wow! Those 8 steps are simple yet absolutely phenomenal lessons!

I highly recommend this book specially for the people who don't like reading self-help books. This book will is a powerful story reading with full of success principles that would increase your ability to read at the same time teaching valuable lessons for success in life. It would be one of the most enjoyable read for everyone who picks this book up for reading...

I personally enjoyed this book a lot and I highly recommend this book to everyone including students, professionals, businessmen and women from all backgrounds.

I enjoyed this book but held off giving it five stars because a little too much of it is just repeats of stuff we've seen in other books. I've been a huge fan of the business philosopher Jim Rohn for years and recognized a lot of his stuff rehashed here albeit in story form.

If you like this style of book i.e. business lessons couched in a simple story then you'll probably like this. Just don't expect to be blown away by any fresh information.
