First off, please do your research when shopping for a cover for your Kindle. If you don't, you may end up with a cracked or scratched Kindle. After personally experiencing a cracked Kindle, due partially to the construction of a different, privately constructed case, I made sure to really consider my decision before purchasing the Tuff-Luv.

I am happy with my Tuff-Luv case because it is well-designed; It holds the Kindle in a "pocket" that protects and nicely displays the Kindle without using elastic (which always stretches out over time) and the Tuff-Luv doesn't use any hooking devices or poorly placed snaps that can cause damage. It is true, you will want to avoid holding your Kindle upside down when the case is open, but I can't think of any time (other than testing the case) where I felt the need to do this. If you do, velcro could be used to attach your Kindle to the inside back of the case. Also, as other reviewers point out, the case is red, not the orange that appears on many monitors. Personally, I didn't mind if my case arrived red or orange, but the leather on the outside is a different color from the red on the inside. For me, this is not a big deal, and the color is only slightly off, but if you are a color perfectionist, just know that the inside and outside of the case might not match perfectly. Additionally, for those of you who want to use a clip-on light, there is enough space on the Tuff-Luv when open to clip on the top, and when open for reading, the main magnetic snap can be folded back and under to snap out of the way. By the way, this snap is unlikely to cause damage; It is smartly placed, magnetic, and does not require an overly strong push to snap. The other two snaps located on the Tuff-Luv's stand are not magnetic, but they too (because of location) are unlikely to damage the Kindle.

Just a side note: Since I am a vegetarian who avoids unnecessary use of leather products and does not like the toxic smell of vinyl, the decision regarding which case to purchase was made difficult because I realized that the majority of cases are leather, and the others are vinyl and do smell according to some reviews. So, this brings me to a suggestion for all companies making Kindle covers; It would be really nice to see fabric options for Kindle cases. This would open up all sorts of pattern and color options that would appeal to many customers, not just the leather-avoiding type. Many of us want to make a personal statement with our choice of covers, and fabric would give unlimited options. Even though I would have preferred a Tuff-Luv case made out of fabric, the Tuff-Luv case was the best option available when it came to protecting my Kindle with style.

After scrutinizing over what seemed like hundreds of different cases, the Tuff-Luv won me over!

I really like the design of the Tuff-Luv in that the Kindle is completely encased. I feel that this will offer the best protection for it. Also, I was really pleased that when inserted into the case, and then closed, the Kindle can not accidentally slide out. Although it is not that snug of a fit, if held upside down when opened, it could slide out. So word of caution! The leather is padded and very soft. All ports are accessible, even when the case is closed. And I really like the stand for 'hand's free' reading with the morning coffee! The case is constructed really well, and just feels sturdy. My only complaint with this case, is that there are not many color choices to choose from. I would have loved to have this case in a saddle brown! Otherwise Black would have probably been my first choice, but since I live on a sailboat, I wanted a color that I would be sure to see, so as not to accidentally sit on it! Pink was definitely not my color, so Rouge it is! And it really is a neat color! I'm luvin' it more and more every day!

Since my only complaint is lack of color choices, I don't think that I can subtract for that. So I'm giving five stars anyway! I would highly recommend the Tuff-Luv to anyone interested in a great Kindle case!

I bought this case about a month ago and I really like it. After reading about some problems with the hinges on some cases cracking some Kindles, I decided to find something else. The Kindle slips into the top of this case and there is enough padding so that it feels well protected when I carry it around in my purse. I love the color, too! I was a little concerned because on my computer it looks orange but it is a bright orangy-RED and that suits me. This case is also available in black and pink (that's all I've seen) but black seemed too boring and pink is just not my thing. I am giving this four stars instead of five only because if someone is not careful and opens it with the top facing down, the Kindle could slide right out. Not a snug fit. I have not had any problem with this myself but could see that some might. All in all, I would recommend this case.

Mine has a small tab with velcro that holds the kindle in the case while open, no fall out if it is upside down. I am very pleased with the product, luv the look, feel, construction. The best cover you could buy.

I was originally going to order the standard black case offered by Amazon at $29.99, but was looking for a case with a built in stand AND I LOVED this flashy red one! I had seen a gentleman reading on his propped up Kindle while eating lunch at Chicago's Union Station. I thought the stand was a great idea, so I went in search of a case that had one. Even though this case is a bit pricier than Amazon's at $39.99, it's definitely worth the extra money. The case is beautifully made and fits my Kindle 2 perfectly. The leather is high quality ~ smooth and luxurious feeling ~ like a top of the line journal. The padding adds protection and makes the case feel good in your hands. The Lifetime Warranty also played a part in my decision to purchase this particular cover. I knew that the quality should be good if the manufacturer is offering this type of reassurance.

The cover flips over from the top instead of from the side. There's a tab at the bottom of the cover that magnetically secures the cover in a closed position. The stand stays secure when not in use by 2 friction type snaps. Due to the padding, this cover does add a little bulk to the Kindle's slim profile, but it's something I can live with. The Kindle fits snugly in the case, but can be removed easily, if necessary. All of the controls and keyboard are easily accessible. The Kindle can be charged with the cover in place and closed. I'm very happy that I selected this cover! If you order this case, I'm sure you won't be dissapointed.

I'm certain more people would purchase the Tuff-Luv covers if they were offered in Amazon's "Kindle Store" instead of being listed in the "Electronics" section.

Although the seller is located in Indiana, my case actually was shipped from the U. K., which I found a bit surprising, inasmuch as the shipping charge was a very reasonable $3.99. The case arrived just a few days after I ordered it.

I don't get why there are separate reviews for different colors of the SAME cover??? But I digress...

After spending hours reviewing a seemingly endless number of cases for my wife's Kindle I finally discovered the Tuff-Luv. I ordered it online [*cough* direct *cough*] and got it within a week.

Pros
1. No Hinges - Let's be honest, the hinge ports on the Kindle are a bad design. Having to train people how NOT TO open the case is just stupid. I didn't want to worry about leaving the Kindle out and having an "untrained" family member or friend accidently crack the case by opening it the "wrong" way. The Tuff-Luv does not use the hinges like the Amazon, M-Edge, and others.

2. Security - It's secured on three full sides, not just the corners like other covers, and the cutouts are excellent. For example, with the Cohn cover you have to move the elastic holder in the corner to access the on/off switch. With this cover every port, plug, and button is accessable.

3. Look & Feel - I don't understand some of the complaints about the leather. It looks and feels fine to me but I suppose that's purely subjective. Plus I was able to get a better grip on the Kindle with it in the holder (as opposed to no holder). And the cover is red-red, not orangy-red like the Amazon site pictures.

4. The stand works great and the cover latch is small and unobtrusive. If you like reading while eating you're really going to like this feature.

Cons
1. Colors - When they say "wide variety of colors" I have to laugh. M-Edge has a wide variety. Mivisu has a wide variety. I-nique/Tuff-Luv has 4 colors. I didn't want black, pink was definitely out (even though it's for my wife I might use it and I'm not THAT secure in my manhood), didn't want to pay $13 more for a brown/suede cover, and that orangy-red...but it was better than pink.

2. While snug, the Kindle 2 will slide out if you turn the case upside down and shake it. But, since it's enclosed on 3 sides, it can only come out one way and that's not going to happen with the cover closed. Still, to me it beats 4 elastic bands holding your Kindle by the corners and nothing, in my opinion, can be completely secure without being unweildy.

3. While I got mine quickly be aware that this case ships from the U.K. (even if you buy via Amazon) so you're paying more for shipping if you have to return it and there might be delays in getting it (for those that need it NOW).

This is a great case at a competitive price. If you can handle potential delays in shipping (unless you live in the EU) I can't see how anyone would be unhappy with this cover.

Worth every penny. The feel in my havd is smooth and padded, yet thin. The smaller stand is just the right angle for setting on the table for easy hands free reading. I just LOVE it. I strongly urge you to get this cover over any others. As I said, worth every penny.
Also love the red! Since I read my Kindle 2 all through the house, if I misplace it, it is easy to spot.

I purchased this case after reading many reviews, and I am absolutely 150% pleased. It is well constructed and designed and I love the easel feature to prop up the Kindle while eating or reading it hands free. The red color is attractive and classy. I never have to remove the Kindle because all the buttons and ports are accessible through the openings in the case, the cover when closed protects the screen and it is small and compact to throw in my purse or bag. The snaps and velcro closures are very secure. Wonderful product!

I love this case for my Kindle. The best feature is that it has a snap-able stand to hold the Kindle upright. The case is well made and stylish. I considered other cases but this was the best for my needs.

The best cover I could imagine. Fabulous protection for my Kindle and a great reading stand. Exactly what I needed and much better than my original cover.
