Dont be put off by other review that complain about the on-off switch. the new version fully accomodates this! they are also offering a free exchange for those that got the older version!

I purchased this case largely because a similar case for the clix2 became my favorite case for that player. Unfortunately, as noted elsewhere, the power/hold switch is not accessible when the X-fi is in the case. Luckily, it is easy to slide the player out and click the power button so its not a total killer.

What I like about this case, what makes it better than Creative's own X-fi leather case and why I give it 3 stars even with the power flaw:

*) Nice quality soft leather and nice fabric liner, quality of construction is good.
*) Excellent access to all of the other buttons and visibility of the screen.
*) I love that it has a clip on it (totally missing from Creative case!), this matters to me more than the access to the power switch.
*) Magnetic closure, easy to open and close with minimal fumbling about.
*) Pocket for SD card
*) Openings for the speaker and USB port.
*) Can remove from case without unplugging headphones. Very easy to slide player in and out.

Summary: at present time this is my favorite case for the X-fi, just wish they would put a hole in the back for the power switch. This maybe because I love having the clip built on to the case which is not so easy to find in a leather case. With a power cutout I would easily give this case a 5!

I wasn't sure how to fairly rate this. Here's why. The case I got from this company is a very nice case. It's well made and perfect for my Zen X-fi. You can easily get to everything on the unit and it offers lots of protection. The problem is, I ordered this case because I specifically needed a clip on the case. This one came with a keyring, no clip --- useless to me. I wrote the company and got no reply.

The company is in the UK and the case is made in China. The case took forever to arrive. Now, I don't ordinarily mix my product review up with my feedback of the seller and I apologize for doing that somewhat here. But I want you to get a sense of what it might be like to order this product. Then again, it may not happen to you.

Had the case had a clip on it as advertised and as the enclosed instructions said it did, I would rate it five stars. The case is buttery soft and quite handsome. If you were to get what you ordered, it would easily be five stars. So read into my review whatever you want.

Keeps unit from getting scratched or damaged unnecessarily, provides the ability to prop up the mp3 player to see screen, helps me find it in my purse! Haven't used the caribiner clip yet, but think it could come in handy to attach to your belt loop or purse.

The quality of this case is top notch, and my ZEN fits in it perfectly. The leather is soft, and with the folding face it offers great protection. It has cut outs for all functions so you never have to remove it from the case. The key ring it's suppled with is nice for belt loops etc. My only complaint is that it makes the unit a bit bulkier so it's hard to put in your pocket or small pouches while in the case. Other than that, it's perfect.

To be perfectly honest, I settled on the Tuff-Luv leather case for the Creative Zen X-Fi because I could not find what I wanted. My SanDisk Sansa Fuze 4 GB Video MP3 Player (Black) (see my review) came with a velvet slip case for covering the screen. I liked this because it kept fingerprints and dust off of the screen and player. Creative didn't have anything like this, nor could I find any aftermarket products that fit the description. In the end it came down to this case and the similar one that Creative sells. I chose this one mostly based on price. One of the differences I did like about this case is that it opens top to bottom when holding the player upright rather than left to right like the one from Creative.

That being said, I think this is the best case for the needs that I have and the price. The case ships from the UK, but it made it to me in a mere five days which was faster than the "ships in 6-10 days" banner. As with most online orders, your mileage with shipping may vary.

After opening the package I found the case, an instruction booklet (that seemed to belong to a different case), and a black ring rather than the silver triangle clip. I was not planning to use the clip/ring so I didn't really care about this. My X-Fi fit in the case easily but securely, and for the most part all controls are easily accessible. The one complaint I have is that I cannot press the play/pause button with my thumb as it is too close to the edge of the case. I am able to use my finger, but this is a minor annoyance. I do like that I don't have to remove the headphones from the X-Fi in order to put it in the case. The metal snap also ensures that the case is securely closed. I prefer this over magnetic closures, but this is a matter of preference. Although I am not currently using SD cards with my X-Fi, I do like the consideration in adding the slot in the cover for storing one. This allows users to easily keep up with media on to SD cards. I could see this coming in handy for use on long trips when you might want to bring extra videos or view pictures that you have taken along the way.

Overall, I'm satisfied with this case. While it wasn't exactly what I wanted, it is very functional with the one noted issue on the play/pause button. The extra features and lower price make this an easy winner over the similar case from Creative. If you have any questions that I have not addressed, please feel free to ask in the comments.

This little case just get's the job done. All of the ports are still easily accessible. The case only makes the use of the far right keys a tad difficult but not much. It looks nice and works well in protecting the X-fi. Unfortunately when the flap is open, it no longer protects the screen since it doesn't have a lens or anything so just be prepared to buy one of those stick-on protective screen covers if you value it xD

Looks lovely and may be great with other models, but the on/off slide switch on the back of the Zen X-fi player Creative Zen X-Fi 16 GB Video MP3 Player with Wireless LAN and Built-In Speaker (Black) is completely covered by the back of this case. You must completely remove the player from the case to access the power switch. Don't buy this case for this player.
