Product Description

Great for interactive play with one or multiple dogs. It can be used as a Frisbee or a tug toy on land or in the water. Great for flyball training. This toy is rated at 10 on the Tuff Scale, the most durable. Easy to toss and great for indoors. Washable. And floats. The soft edges won't hurt gums. Mega construction features up to seven rows of stitching. The number of rows of stitching depends on the shape, size and style of the toy. Two directions of cross stitching hold the multiple layers together. Rows of stitching hold webbing around the materials edge, and the toys' parts are sewn together with up to three rows of stitching. When possible, a protective webbing is added around the outer edge and sewn up to three more times. Tuffy Mega Toys can have up to seven layers of material depending on the shape, size and style of the toy. Our Mega Series can have up to three layers of luggage-grade material. Certain layers of material are coated with a layer of plastic to hold the materials fibers together. Finally, we use soft fleece for the outer layer. We add an additional layer of webbing whenever possible, around the outside edge to cover the seams of the toy. This is sewn multiple times, for added durability. Squeakers are sewn into material pockets inside the toy. This additional layer of safety can give you the time you need to safely remove the toy in the event your dog reaches the core of the toy.

We bought this for our lab-mix puppy (9 months) when she was pretty much shredding every other soft toy we gave her, within moments of receiving the toy. Supervised or not, she was going to get that infernal squeaker out if it was the last thing she did. She hated the "unbreakable toys" we got her, like the Extreme Kong. In desperation, we searched for the strongest soft toy we could find, even if it meant we paid a premium (and for the durability, the price isn't bad at all). If you go to the website for Tuffy dog toys, you can watch them being played with by TIGERS AND BEARS. That pretty much sold me.

It's been 5 months since we got this toy, and all the damage it's received is slobber marks, some ripped-off detailing (like the outer black edge), and some loose threads. Two out of four squeakers are dead as well (assuming punctured), but two still live! We could not have asked for more in a soft toy (which are not supposed to be left with a dog unsupervised, unless, of course, they're Tuffys!). Our dog loves it, too; not one of those "sure, it's fine because it never gets played with" toys. If you've got a destructive chewer, this is as good as soft toys get.

I have two Entlebucher mountain dogs and despite being only 50 lbs each they have seriously powerful jaws and one of them has pointy teeth despite not being a puppy any longer.

What that means for soft toys is usually the first day we get them they are already having the guts ripped out.

This toy makes it the better part of a month before they get a hole in it and we just remove the stuffing from that arm and let them keep going so in reality the toy lasts us a couple of months.

So it's not the perfect toy but no soft toy is going to be (if you want one get the Kong bones - we've had those for years and they look/feel brand new)

My Golden Retriever is pretty destructive when it comes to chew toys. This is the 2nd Tuffy toy I've given her, and the only fabric toy I've found that's virtually indestructible. They have become her favorite toys by far. I chose either the #9 or #10 rated toys in terms of durability. It's the only fabric toy I'll buy her in the future.....

This product is great. My dog is close to 100 lbs and has not put a dent in it! Seems like it will last for a while.

Toy is pretty durable, but not everlasting. I bought it for my 8 week old staffordshire bull terrier puppy. Initially I gave it to him as a chew toy and he was able to fray the black stitching pretty good but not break it apart. Now my 6 month old (3 months later) has finally pulled apart the seam and got to the stuffing. Made a good tug toy for awhile. I would recommend this toy as it is definitely much more durable than any other "plush" toy I have gotten. Just be sure to only use intermittently or as a tug toy and do not just leave your dog alone to chew it apart if you want it to last.

I would buy again.
