Product Description

Sherman – I am not the black sheep of the flock, but somehow I landed this gig. I no longer have my lovely wool turned into shirts and sweaters, nor do I even get counted as I jump with my friends over your bed. Apparently I am better served as a fuzzy friend to dogs who would prefer to tug and slobber on me rather than wear me. Baaaa. Your Pooch is sure to be pleased with this fun and adventurous toy. For interactive play with one or multiple dogs. Sherman does not squeak. Easy to toss and Floats. -- soft edges won't hurt gums. Each Barnyard toy is made with 4 layers. 2 layers are made of industrial grade luggage material, 1 layer of plastic coating, and the other layer is made of soft fleece on the outside. All of these layers are sewn together to make one super strong layer of material. Each toy is sewn together with 2 layers of cross stitching and then 2 layers of linear stitching. After the toy is sewn together an additional piece of black trim is added to cover the four rows of stitching. This extra piece of black trim is sewn with 3 linear stitches to give the product a total of 7 seams. These toys are machine washable (air dry) and float. The Barnyard Series are not guaranteed due to their detailed construction.

It's a very durable toy and I recommend Tuffy toys.
Pursegal
The ears were gone in 5 minutes, which was about what I was expecting, but then the tail and face were chewed off in another 5 and the stuffing pulling ensued.
muddy boots
He is in a phase of ripping apart everything we give him, so Tuffy's toys are about the only thing that last more than a few days.

I literally JUST gave this to my 6 month old boxer/dutch shepherd. I opened the door to get the boxes 8 minutes ago. I already threw out the ears she tore off, and now after I finish this review, I have to pick up the cotton stuffing that is now covering my liiving room floor along with all the black stitching. I should have given her a $4 stuffed toy instead, sometimes those last longer. this has been the worst.

My little monsters can go through a supermarket stuffed animal in about three minutes flat. These Tuffy toys have a much better life expectancy than that! We have been through about a dozen different shaped Tuffy toys in the past few years and admittedly, some last longer than others. Sherman seemed to fall right about in the middle of the spectrum. I purchased Sherm on January 1 and he finally started bleeding white stuffing this week. Our smallest pup, Andy, took a liking to Sherm and he has been the toy of choice to drag around the house with him wherever he goes for the last few weeks. This probably helped lead to the lamb's early demise since Andy is our biggest chewer. Keep in mind that these Tuffy toys are not designed to be chew toys, and we supplement our kids' need to chew with rawhide treats which helps us extend the life of thier toys. That being said, they still take a heck of a lot of abuse and I am usually well pleased with the lifespan of a Tuffy toy. I also love the imaginative variety of colors and shapes available.

***NOTE: Once a hole is chewed in a Tuffy toy and the stuffing is coming out we just remove the rest of the stuffing and let the kids have the emptied "skin." They still have lots of fun dragging around and playing tug of war with the remains.

This guy was definitely bigger than I realized, but still great for my 45lb shepherd. He had a tough time at first getting his mouth around it, but that made it better, as he had to use his brain a bit to carry it around. I've read a lot of reviews complaining about the Tuffy toys & them not lasting. They are plush. Dogs have teeth. Seriously, what do people expect? Sherman didn't even make it a night before one hoof was ripped open. But 75% of the reason my dog loves stuffed toys so much is to pull out the stuffing. Maybe other people's dogs eat stuffing, but this has never been an issue for me. Sherman is now pretty much flat. All of his innards have been ripped out...and hoooolllly cow were there a lot. Made it even that much more enjoyable for my dog. I don't get why people are taking it away the second this toy has a little rip. We still use him to play tug & my dog continues to chew/play with him despite him being completely destroyed. I'm about to purchase another Tuffy toy (and not planning on retiring Sherman yet) because of how much fun my dog enjoyed brutally killing this one. Expensive, yes. But a price I'm willing to pay a few times a year to see my dog so happy!

This toy did last longer than most, however my dog found the weak spots (the ears) and tore them off. Stuffing all over.

My dogs ruin all toys--EXCEPT FOR THIS ONE!!! these are virtually indestructible. My dog is 105 lbs and yet his Christmas Sherman the Sheep is still in one piece. Unheard of around here! Thank you so much for making such a tough, healthy toy for our dogs! I highly recommend these toys.

My 10 month-old Australian Shepherd has loved playing with this toy for the past 3 weeks. She played with it a lot. The ears were chewed off pretty quickly, but the rest of it seemed to be holding up very well. But today she chewed through at one of the seams near the neck and started pulling out clouds of stuffing from the head and neck. Fortunately my husband saw her at the start of this, and I think she did not eat any of it. I was under the mistaken impression that this toy was padded only with more layers of cloth. But it looks like standard polyester stuffing material. I'm going to stuff the head and neck with cloth or old hose and stitch it up and let her have another go at it, but now I will not leave her alone with it. :-(

Our dog is a major destroyer of ALL toys. His average destruction time is less than a day and some toys that came with an "indestructible" label didn't last 15 minutes. While the Sheep Dog Toy did not last, it took the dog over three weeks to completely "kill" it and remove all the stuffing. Even then, the body held up quite nicely for over a month as the dog dismembered the ears, feet, etc. Long story short, he continues to lovingly carry what's left around.

60 lb lab had the stuffing out in 20 minutes. Way better toys for this price point. Do not recommend if you're looking for something sustainable
