A wonderful debut,
By Payeyo (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tug Of War (Audio CD)
Tug of War is an album only a young person could have produced, and I mean that as a compliment.
Carly Rae Jepsen's debut, brings a mix of songs filled with the exuberance of youth. Of the time when we still knew how to have fun, and love was a new and overwhelming emotion. Although the lyrics are not entirely there yet, Carly Rae Jepsen's voice really sells them. Whether she's taking you to a day at the beach with "Bucket", or conveying the feeling of being lost in someone else's world with "Heavy Lifting". She can easily lift you up, or whisper you to tears. "Tug of war" the title track it's already getting a lot of airplay, as well as her take of John Denver's "Sunshine on my Shoulders". They, along with the rest of the tracks, are melodically crafted with such a great competence as to making them irresistible. I simply loved this debut effort, and I'm looking forward to a lot of great things from CRJ in the future.

expensive and unavailable,
This review is from: Tug Of War (Audio CD)
Why is this album so hard to find, and why is it so expensive? I have listened to samples of the tracks, but cannot find the album. The samples sound very good and I would purchase this album if it were sold in stores, and was not so costly. I like what I hear; however, if I could hear the whole album I might love it. Carly Ray is so personable and happy. She seems to enjoy entertaining for the people.
I enjoyed her very much on Idol. |
