5.0 out of 5 stars She Was Determined to Make Him a Villain ... (5+ stars), December 29, 2006

Book Description: A CHARMING PURSUIT OF HEARTS AND FLOWERS. What a maddening, impossible man Constantijn van Lindermann was! Wherever Augusta went, there he was: inviting her out, paying her compliments, sending her enormous bouquets of tulips, even kissing her on occasion.. Augusta had to admit that she enjoyed it, especially the kisses. But until she could discover how important a part of the glamorous Susan played in his life, how could she possibly take Constantijn seriously?

"Did you think that I was going to make a pass at you? My dear Staff Nurse, I don't like carroty hair."

*****The story of Constantijn van Linderman and Augusta Brown is another handsome, rich Dutch Doctor and plain, kind British Nurse story. Augusta wants to believe and assumes the worse in all matters concerning Constantijn and his character; she jumps to many wrong conclusions, and then regrettably reacts by telling "social fibs" or behaving "absolutely wrathy." After all, why would he with his good looks, affluent background, and the glamorous Susan for a girlfriend seriously pursue someone as plain and unexciting as her?
