Here are some of the reasons why I purchased this tea:
Why is Tulsi Tea So Good For You?
Tulsi is a powerful adaptogen. In other words it helps the body to resist stress. Those suffering with stress related conditions may consider drinking three to four cups a day.
Tulsi is a natural sleep aid – it is important, however, to avoid those blends that include other forms of tea containing caffeine.
Tulsi boosts the immune system. Regular drinkers report a far lower incidence of succumbing to common illnesses such as colds.
This herb is absolutely packed with free radical fighting anti-oxidants and beneficial phytochemical compounds.
It can help to maintain healthy eye-sight.
Assists in maintaining a healthy metabolism.
Offers improved joint support.
It possesses anti-inflammatory properties and is therefore beneficial to those suffering from IBS, Chrohn’s disease and digestive disorders.
It improves levels of stamina.
Regular drinkers have a lower than average incidence of gum disease. It also helps to combat bad breath.
You can choose to sweeten it or drink it plain. It is made with three types of tulsi, or holy basil as it's also known.
Update: The retail price of this tea is $4.99 for 18 tea bags. You may find a special price at the Organic India website or elsewhere. I purchased a combination pack of tea bags and loose tea from Dr. Mercola's website a number of months ago.
I have now been drinking this tea much more regularly, and I have to say that it appears to be a good substitute for a nightly beer or glass of wine. It has a very unique effect - it soothes and energizes at the same time. I am hoping to use this tea as part of a modified Dukan diet which I plan to undertake immediately. I followed the recipe on the loose tea canister to make iced tea to keep in the refrigerator. I am hoping that when I get together with friends who are enjoying drinking, I can drink some tulsi tea instead. The tulsi leaves are considered to have remarkable properties and the plant is revered in India. Because this tea is not bitter in any way, I find that you can easily drink it without adding any artificial sweeteners, but if you must have your tea sweet, probably SweetLeaf stevia powder or something similar would be a good choice.
I will update this posting if my plan succeeds. Enjoy!
I did some research online and found tulsi tea to be one of the remedies plus it is caffeine free and able to give me a boost of energy without making my anxiety worse. Wow I was surprised other than 5-htp (an herbal supplement which only calms and does not energize) this tea surpassed my expectations it is very calming and energizing at the same time.
Plus the price of this tea is more reasonable than other brands and with the economy the way it is in these times brands don't matter it's the product. Thank you to all the family's and farmers who made this product possible I owe you my deepest gratitude!
Aside from the great taste and calming properties, tulsi is known to boost your immune system. I've been drinking extra cups lately to fight off a cold, and it really seems to be working. One of my friends is from India, and she says most families have a tulsi plant in their home for colds, indigestion, etc.
The Organic India website explains, "Tulsi, also called Holy Basil, is revered throughout India as a sacred herb infused with healing power and is considered to be the "Queen of Herbs." Abundant in antioxidants, certified organic Tulsi Tea is not only great tasting; it offers stress relief, increased energy and a boost to your natural immune system. Enjoy!"
