5.0 out of 5 stars Baby & Parents Smile Every Time We Read TUMBLE BUMBLE!
TUMBLE BUMBLE is an awesomely fun book. We have a board book printing, which seems to be currently unavailable new. My 14 month old has been asking us to read it over and over for 2 months now, and none of us is tired of it. The singsong rhyme feels natural and unforced. The pictures and story are charming without being sticky sweet. This is a great early story book --...

2.0 out of 5 stars Schizophrenic Bug Breaking and Entering
Am I the only one bothered by the mathematical innacuracies in this book? Does anyone else notice at the end when the bug is counting up his new friends, HE INCLUDES HIMSELF IN THE COUNT! Does he have multiple personalities? And is breaking and entering really behavior we want to encourage for children - these so-called new friends are as bad as Goldilocks in that...

5.0 out of 5 stars Baby & Parents Smile Every Time We Read TUMBLE BUMBLE!, October 11, 2006
This review is from: Tumble Bumble (Paperback)
TUMBLE BUMBLE is an awesomely fun book. We have a board book printing, which seems to be currently unavailable new. My 14 month old has been asking us to read it over and over for 2 months now, and none of us is tired of it. The singsong rhyme feels natural and unforced. The pictures and story are charming without being sticky sweet. This is a great early story book -- enough story to keep parents happy but never too much text on one page. My baby is getting interested in the growing parade of animals and calls out the name of his favorite ("beeeeeeee!") when we meet it, and then finds the bee again on each page. There's a chance to name things (9 animals + a boy) and to count things.

The age recommendation on this book says "4-8." IGNORE THAT and buy TUMBLE BUMBLE much, much earlier. At our house, the 14 month old and a 2 1/2 year old both enjoy TUMBLE BUMBLE.

5.0 out of 5 stars fun for mom, dad and baby, January 16, 2000
This review is from: Tumble Bumble Board Book (Laura Geringer Books) (Board book)
We came upon Tumble Bumble because we loved "If you give a Pig a Pancake" and the other books by the same author. The animals look like ones we would like to be friends with! My daughter loves the picture at the end of the book with all the animals in bed together and the spider coming to join them. Such a happy book. GREAT book as a gift in board book style for little hands. Love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Fabulous, April 10, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Tumble Bumble Board Book (Laura Geringer Books) (Board book)
My 2 Year Old and I love this book. He get's to complete the rhyming sentences for me. It's becoming one of the his favorite stories to hear even without the book. The rhymes are catchy and the animals are very cute. I'm not sure why the Editorial reviews rate this for 3-5 year olds. It's definitely great for the younger ones. I didn't realize until reading another review that this is the same author as "If you give a Moose a Muffin." The author has a way of engaging children - she's wonderful!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Children's Book, December 5, 2006

I think I bought this book for my son when he was about 10 months old and he absolutely loved it. I think I love it just about as much as he does. It's the kind of book that you can read over and over again (which you will) and not get so incredibly sick of it that you want to puke. It starts out "A tiny bug went for walk. He met a cat and stopped to talk. They fell in step and strolled awhile and bumped into a crocodile." As you can see, the words roll together very nicely creating a pleasant sound to the young (or old) ear. The pictures are simple but colorful which is also very appealing to young audiences. My son is now 27 months old and he still enjoys reading this book and I imagine he will want to read it for a long time to come. I highly recommend this book for young kids. It's never too early to start reading to your kids!

We happened upon this book by chance at the library. After reading the story twice, we ordered both the hardcover and board book from Amazon. My little girl (10 months old now) loves the story, can hardly wait for the next page. You can see the excitement build up as she realizes we are getting closer to the HOORAY! at the end of the book. We have the hardcover for before bedtime reading and since she likes to look at the book herself, but is still a bit destructive with paper pages, the board book is very handy. (Also fits nicely in the diaper bag.)
I would recommend this book for anyone who reads to their child as it is just a fun read.

Had to update at 17 months, this is still one of her favorites!

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite book for toddlers!, February 27, 2004
This review is from: Tumble Bumble Board Book (Laura Geringer Books) (Board book)
This is my all-time favorite toddler book. My daughter loves it, but I think I might like it even more. I have it memorized and always make it one of the books we read each time we sit down. You'll love this book, the illustrations, the rhymes, and the story. (I bet your child even loves it too!)

5.0 out of 5 stars A big hit with our 20month old!, April 12, 2001
This review is from: Tumble Bumble Board Book (Laura Geringer Books) (Board book)
Simply put - a lot of fun. To be read over (and over etc.) Our one year old caught on to this tale after a few times through and now has fun completing the second half of each paragraph.

This lovely book is both lyrical and sweet. My 12 month old daughter loves the illustrations and my 3 year old daughter enjoys the poetic and comical verse. It's wonderfully written and appropriate for infants on up to early readers. "Tumble Bumble" has become a favorite bedtime ritual!

5.0 out of 5 stars My daughter's favorite at 15 months, December 6, 1999

This review is from: Tumble Bumble Board Book (Laura Geringer Books) (Board book)
Bought it when she was 15 months old because *I* liked it, and it quickly became the book she would bring to us from the shelf the most often. Every time we read it, we would "bump" with the animals, dance a jig, zig and zag, tippy toe, sing, and yawn extravagantly. Hooray!

Now she's six years old, and she STILL likes Tumble Bumble. We've got a lot of books illustrated or written by Felicia Bond, but this one is the best, hands down! (If you like this, you should also check out "The Napping House.")

4.0 out of 5 stars One of my daughter's favorites, April 28, 2002
This review is from: Tumble Bumble Board Book (Laura Geringer Books) (Board book)
I'll add my voice to the many that have stated that this is a terrific book. My daughter loves the characters and the rhyming. The only (minor) caveat I would add is about the ending. The characters come to a house where no one is home, so "tippy-toeing on 14 feet" they go into it, eat a snack, make a mess, and then climb into a child's bed.
