Good Concept, Bad Fit,
By
This review is from: Tune Belt Open View Armband for iPod nano 3G (Electronics)
I went with this because it had full face protection and the handy little side velcro for wire management. The ipod fits loosely in it, but it will not fall out. Here is the issue: the plastic see through cover is not snug on the face of the ipod so the control wheel is hard to use. This mainly happens when I am either running or biking, the band builds up heat from my body temperature, then the plastic gets sticky. It will then stick to the ipod. So what happens is say I am scrolling through album art and stop on what I want, when I lift my finger and the plastic pulls up from the ipod since it is not a snug fit, it will scroll to another selection. Very frustrating. This happens on any sort of navigating. Say you just want to increase or decrease the volume. Well be warned after you scroll to your desired volume and lift your finger you may get a blast in the ear as it turns up or down if you are lucky. Even strapping it tighter doesn't help. I pushed on the back of it and there is still a gap between the plastic and the ipod. Stuffing something behind the ipod doesn't even help. I guess I could cut a circle so the wheel is exposed, but then that defeats the protection from the elements. I think I will try the sportsuit runabout by marware and just stitch in a little piece of velcro for wire management. My G-friend has one and doesn't have this issue when it heats up.

Good Solution for IPod and working out,
By
This review is from: Tune Belt Open View Armband for iPod nano 3G (Electronics)
I bought this after much research and based on other reviews i was kind of skeptical but other products didn't have much better reviews. I even checked eBay for the 5 Dollar solutions but I am glad i went with this one. The Arm Band is all Velcro and stays snug during running and workouts. The only reason i gave it a 4 instead of 5 is the Plastic Cover is not as sensitive toward the volume etc as i would have hoped but I understand it secures the IPod better.

Not bad, but definite room for improvement,

This is very comfortable to wear and the ipod nano fits in there nicely.
The only drawback is that one piece of velcro is nice and long to accomodate different size arms, but the other piece of velcro to secure the band onto it is way too small. It seems that it would easily come apart while exercising if you're not careful.

Not Good for Men,

I say that this product is not good for men because the band is too short. I'm not a big guy (14.5" biceps), but even at the band's longest setting it squeeze my arm uncomfortably. They make an extension band, but I'd never have thought my arms are big enough to need it. My guess is that the length is good for women and small-framed men.
Plus, there's no way to attach a Nike+ receiver. That's my fault for not checking, though. All in all, if my arms were smaller and I didn't use the Nike+ system I'd be really happy with this product.

Great for the Gym!,

I use this armband at the gym all the time! It stays on during cardio classes, etc. Very comfortable! I have smaller arms so I wanted a band that wouldn't slide off during exercise. This works great!

I wanted something to hold my 3G iPod while I exercised. This product was easy to wear on the arm. It has a little velcro flap to hold the headphone cord so it's not in the way when I am running and I can still move the dial in the plastic sleeve. Great for the cost with no big hype. It does what it was meant to do!

Just received this a couple days ago , and so far I like it. Like others have said, the only downfall is trying to adjust the volume or song while running or working out....it does not work too well thru the plastic. I have a case over my ipod, and it fits nicely. I belive it is a good deal though for the money. Am pleased so far. The velcro works great! Stays in place.

A very sturdy band. Very satisfied with it.
The only drawback is that the face plastic makes it a little difficult to control the ipod but i would much rather deal with that than have a flimsy thin product that falls apart. Thank you!!!

Velcro doesn't seem to hold as well as would have been expected. Also, isn't as comfortable as I would have liked.

very nice case..... does the job.
...the price was right on the money.... i did not want to spend $30 for a case. That guy that speaks about the velcro coming apart is bogus-- it never has come apart on me! I was even able to put my 3G Nano in with the protective case i bought for it the minute i had the nano. |
