This review is from: How to Tune the Secret Short Wave Spectrum (Paperback)
This book sparked many a SWL's interest in numbers stations, pirate radio, and other mysterious signals.Though most of the information in this book is twenty years worth of oudated, it can still make an entertaining read. Many of the mysteries are solved, such as the Russian Woodpecker and many "numbers" stations. Many of the stations themselves are gone from the airwaves- but reading this still brings you back to 1981, when shortwave pirate radio was brand new, the the Cold War smouldered, and mystery signals covered the HF bands. |
