My laptop was starting to get sluggish. I was looking for a tool or a peripheral that will improve overall function and efficiency. While doing a search, I ran into several software that claims "fine-tuning" your pc to run at an optimum level. Many of these can be downloaded online free BUT there is a huge catch. You may use these software to scan your pc but when it finds or detects the problem, you will be prompted to buy the full-version. It will not let you fix whatever problem it finds by using the trial version. I found TuneUp Utilities and this software is truly a saver. You can download the FULL version free from its own site and you may use the full version for 30-days no holds barred. It will do maintenance on your pc in layman's terms and it is very user friendly. The functions are laid out in plain simplicity with corresponding explanations on what the function is intended for. No fiddling here and there trying to figure out what this software is going to do for you. Here are some things that this utility will do for your pc:

* Correct, reduce and repair registry errors
* Free up your disc space of unnecessary files
* Optimizes your system by turning off any unnecessary programs on start-up
* Fixes display problems
* Restore accidentally deleted files
* Securely destroy unwanted files
* Runs a complete maintenance check and fixes whatever problem it finds


Overall, it has kept my old and sluggish laptop running like brand new. I also like the fact that this software is straight and thorough, they will not offer you any unnecessary products that is not already included in the software. The only offer I saw was an upgrade to the most latest version. Unlike other utility software that offers a separate thing for separate functions, TuneUp Utilities is an all-in-one package. Very happy with this purchase and I highly recommend this!

TuneUp did everything it says and more. There is no doubt my PC runs faster to the point--I don't have to buy a new one. It was a last minute effort to improve performance and it was a great investment. Plus, it did all the work for me. Because I am not overly technical it was refreshing that TuneUp either recommend what I should do or just automatically did it with one simple click. And I have it set up to automatically continue to keep my PC running at peak performance. I highly recommend TuneUp.

I tried this product after my computer was bogged down and running really slow.
First off, the program is easy and quick to install. The interface is divided into very self explanatory catagories that are easy to use. Its ability to identify and keep track of unused and unnecessary programs was extremely helpful- because I for one don't know what half the stuff on my computer is used for. The simple advice and explanation gave me the comfort to delete these unwanted programs without worry.
In a very short period of time, I had cleaned up my hard drive, identified and taken care of problems, (and my computer had several,) much of which is done with one click. With the "Free Up Disk Space" feature, I defragmented my hard drive and maximized my disk space. The feature identifying unwanted programs at Start-Up was especially useful, the computer now starts and runs much faster.
It also has an "Automatic Maintenence" feature which I've set for weekly and has kept my computer running healthy.
I'm recommending it to my parents too, it's easy enough for them to use.

This does not work on Windows 7 and can corrupt admin files. They told me would give me a # if sent valid receipt - I did but they wont. Not even sure 2010 version will work on their to be honest. Do not recommend this

Optimizess your computer by helping you get rid of unwanted programs, unwanted startup programs, automatic defragmentation, registry defragmentation, and many other ways which I had no idea of before perchasing this software (and I've used others like it, specifically fix-it utilities). It also lets you customize your boot, start-up, and logon screens.
WOULD DEFINITELY RECCOMEND

The only thing stopping me from giving it a 5 star rating is because of the lack of anti virus/spyware. I was a big fan of Fix-it Utilities Pro by Avanquest. The reason I bout Tuneup was because I upgraded to x64 bit OS and The Fix-it 9 wasnt compatible, but I guess 10 is. Tuneup works great, I like all the optimizers. I read they have a version 10 out also now.

This has really helped me do maintenance on my computer. I wanted to clean the registry and this tool did the job. It seems to be versatile in that novice or advanced users can all get something from this package. I very rarely purchase software, but I do feel this was a worthwhile investment.
The machine I use it on is an eMachines T2858; AMD Athlon XP 2800+; 2GHz; Windows XP v.2002 w/ SP2.

Had a problem (with my computer) and the install wasn't quite complete. Asked for help via e-mail. The fix that was presented worked great.

I would recommend this software.

So far I haven't used the full capability of the software, but it has "fixed" a fair number of problems on my XP Pro laptop. It has saved me the hassle of going through manually and fixing that which I could do--and helped to fix things I wouldn't think of or couldn't do. However, I am having an annoying fatal error with MS Works which prevents me from using the calendar etc, and unfortunately Tuneup didn't fix this on the first go-round--though I expected it to. Hopefully upon using the full functionality Tuneup will sort out that problem, as well as some boot times that are longer than is probably normal....
