Beautiful melodies, impeccable performances,
By Deborah Torgler (Lincoln, NE USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tunes From The Attic (Audio CD)
The Baltimore Consort have recorded the "leftovers" in this collection, songs that hadn't made other CD's, so it's an interesting mix of tunes from several time periods. It has on it a tune called "Well Hall" which I think ranks in my top five beautiful melodies of all time. As always with the Baltimore Consort, the arrangements are wonderful, the playing perfect, the engineering outstanding, and all the rest.

Pills to Purge Melancholy,

Like the name of one of the collections that this music comes from, this title may have better suited this CD. The music is earthy enough for even non-fans of Early Music to enjoy (probably do to its affinity to our own American folk music). Absolutely delightful! I would consider this CD to be one of the better ones of the Baltimore Consort's excellent collection.
