Tungsten is one of the hardest metals on the planet. It's durability is absolutely unmatched in the jewelry industry. Tungsten is 10 times harder than 18K gold, 5 times harder than tool steel and 4 times harder than titanium. It measures between an 8 and 9 on the Mohs scale, with diamonds being the highest at a 10. Tungsten has been used for decades in industrial applications where only the strongest and hardest metal will suffice. All of our rings are manufactured with tungsten carbide using nickel as a binding agent. Many companies choose to use cobalt as a binder because it is slightly cheaper. While either element will work just fine, cobalt has a higher tendency to have adverse reactions with some people's skin. This is why we use nickel. Although in some extremely rare cases a customer will discover he or she has an allergy to nickel, our rings are generally considered to be hypo-allergenic.

I LOVE this ring! Sadly, it didn't fit my ring finger so I gave it to a good friend... and, now, she LOVES this ring!! Sizing is off by at least half (bought an 8 1/2 should have bought a 9). The black is pure and simple and very elegant. Buy it!

I ordered this ring as a replacement for my original wedding band. I injured my finger and needed a larger size, so this was the ring. I love the ring, cool look. The black on the ring is a coating, so it isn't as durable as the plain silver/chrome looking tungsten carbide rings.

I'm hard on rings. I bought this with my wife's approval to replace a sterling silver wedding band that didn't last 2 months. It gets noticed, a lot. I haven't scratched it, chipped it or bent it (doubt that is possible, really) and the finish is still the same as when I received it. It's kind of thick and heavy, but you get used to it, as it feels like quality. Don't pass it up if you are looking for a band replacement or just something stylish, it's well worth the $
