Book Description

March 28, 2000

In September 1963, President Kennedy commissions Officer Tom Grant to find stolen gold and other treasure that vanished while in Nazi army officials’ possession.

Grant soon discovers that nothing in his training could adequately prepare him to deal with the deceitful minds and extreme dangers that lie ahead. He is caught in a web of intrigue and paranoia as he infiltrates the Iron Curtain. Encountering menacing characters at every turn, he is convinced that ex-Nazis and Communist assassins are following him. Throughout The Tunnel Grant meets and sidesteps perils while struggling to uncover the dirty little secrets of the Third Reich.

5.0 out of 5 stars A TALE OF COLD WAR INTRIGUE, November 21, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Tunnel (Paperback)
An Omaha Beach veteran, I ordinarily am not attracted to war stories. Nor to mysteries, although I was for a time in the Counter Intelligence Corps (CIC).

But THE TUNNEL held my interest from chapter to chapter, and I read it slowly in order to savor all the action. The details are so well presented and developed that one is not surprised to learn that the author served with the U.S. Army in Munich and Augsburg, Germany.

The dialogue at times may seem unrealistic, but the action certainly isn't. What the author has here is an excellent candidate for a first-rate movie. I'm just happy that I read the book before seeing the movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great New Author, July 8, 2000
This review is from: The Tunnel (Paperback)
The skill exhibited by this new author in unrolling this adventure novel is astounding! Not just another spy novel from the Nazi era, the character development, and the twisted plot elevates this novel above the genre.
