Tupperware Crystalwave Lunch'n Dish with Cold Cup. LUPINE PURPLE!

my mom was concerned when other reviews talked about how difficult the lid is to put on and take off, but she followed the directions about heating it in warm water and has had no problems.

it looks like a smaller container than most, but since it is deeper, it does hold quite a bit more than you'd think. and we like the removable section for cold stuff so you can heat everything but your salad.

This is great for me because i like to eat small portions of different things and this tupperware has a removable cup for hot or cold items you want separate from the other foods in your meal

I love Tupperware in general and have many vintage and newer pieces in other lines, but the "rock n serve" and "vent n serve" are dogs.

please note the indented area in the lid. That is for a mini-cap you open to release steam if microwaving the contents.

the indentation is much wider than necessary and very deep, about half of the dish's depth. this means one of the small sections is pretty much unusable. If I try to put the indentation in the section that runs side-to-side, because it is narrow, the section will only accommodate the bump smack dab in the middle.

this very poor design cripples all of T-ware's "rock n serve" and "vent n serve" products. I would prefer the "rocking" steam vent to be on or atop the lid, instead of in/beneath the lid, to maximize capacity. (Like Corningware's products designed for the brown bagger CorningWare French White 20-Ounce Mug; these have a silicon tab that the user presses in to seal or lifts up to open the steam vent.) But then T-ware couldn't stack its products for display. T-ware is all about stacking in their merchandising.

and the bowl is VERY shallow, so forget about items thicker than, say an inch, like a piece of chicken, a quartered orange or a dinner roll. So, despite being large and cumbersome (it's VERY wide across because of the "ears" that are necessary thumb rests to remove the lid), the sealed dish holds under 2 cups. totally inadequate if you're like me and love your fruits, veg and grains. I tried for a while to use it for afternoon snacks of carrot sticks etc, but it's just too inefficient. It's like clown shoes: grotesquely outsized, clumsy and mostly empty space.

I've gone back to using small containers and food wraps (modified napkins) or zipper bags to separate items; plus the above-mentioned Corningware for nuking food. This T-ware and other rock and vent pieces went to the charity shop.

the only one I still have, is the Tupperware Crystalwave Soup mug. Orange with Blue seal, which is shaped like a stoneware soup mug and holds about 12 oz, not the stated 16 oz--once again because the steam vent hangs under the lid. WARNING: if you microwave 10 oz of liquid--soup for example--it will bubble up the steam vent and fill the indentation in the lid if you're lucky. if unlucky, it will continue to bubble, spill onto the oven floor and splash on the walls. That's 10 oz--little more half the advertized capacity--, so I stopped using it for heating liquid-y things. I suspect this problem would eventuate with all the products using this valve design, but I never used them in the microwave before I dumped them.

I kept the soup mug mostly because the inside is badly stained by tomato. It is nice when I bring just one thing (that doesn't need heating) and want a generous amount; e.g., a grain salad. The handle makes it easy to eat in the park or at my desk. As always, T-ware's colors are cheerful and pretty.

It's a good size for taking meals to work or to sick friends. The cold section fits well and does come out easily.

The major problem is that that lid fits very tightly. The sellers suggest soaking it in hot water and then letting it stretch while it cools on the plate bottom. That helps some. And they even offer to replace it if it's still too tight. So this must be an issue for some buyers.

The lid fits tightly enough that my elderly mother can't remove it herself, but it makes it easy to take food to her, we then have to remove the lid and cover the bottom with plastic wrap.

But it would work fine for a younger person to take to work.

Got 2 of these and I love the fact that you can separate the foods. And, use for hot and cold, they are also great for portion control. Nice stuff

Well made, but too big for my purposes --I bought this for my toddler's lunch, but it's too big ... ok for the future. Follow the directions about soaking in hot H20 to get the lid to fit.
