4.0 out of 5 stars Classic Style
These are the older soup mugs but I think I like them the best. Don't have the new ones so I can't compare. I just keep getting these as long as I still can. They are great for when you make soup and want to store serving sizes. Of course that means a big 2 cup serving size but when soup is your meal that's perfect. I wish they stacked with one inside the other but the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Sadly disappoining!
I got this for heating soup in the microwave but found that after a few times it started to peel on the inside, so was very disappointed. Also the seal is so stiff it's still, after over a year, hard not to get steam burn when removing it (I do have arthritis so that may be specific to my own lack of dexterity). Having said all that it's still a really useful item and...

These are the older soup mugs but I think I like them the best. Don't have the new ones so I can't compare. I just keep getting these as long as I still can. They are great for when you make soup and want to store serving sizes. Of course that means a big 2 cup serving size but when soup is your meal that's perfect. I wish they stacked with one inside the other but the best you will be able to do is stack them one on top of the closed lid of the other. With Tupperware you have to be careful to not let things get too hot (actually cook) or they will damage the insides. Does not affect use. Tupperware tells you when something is just for heating food and this is one of those things.

Take my lunch to work and love to bring homemade soups. This is just the right size, doesn't leak and the steam vent is clever and effective. I have used it many times and it still does not leak. It is sort of like the safety pin, simple, clever and useful. Kind of like the orange color too.

Reading other reviews it seems only mine has the peeling problem, so maybe it's just that I got a dud (it happens)?

Well made. Very nice size. The only problem is that the handle isn't very comfortable.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not great for soup drinking. Alladin mugs are better., August 29, 2010

I got this for soup at my desk -- the kind I can drink. I bought the all-orange one that does not show the pour spout open. When I got mine, I discovered that it opens the wrong way. I cannot imagine why they would design it that way. The only thing I can come up with is that it is NOT a pout spout, but a steam/heat vent. But why not make it open the right way and have it serve both functions?

The lid is also way too difficult to remove. This is actually something of a hazard with a hot liquid. Even with a warm liquid, it's a hazard to the desk, papers, pants, etc.

Once open, it's a decent soup mug. Nothing special, but functional. It has a nice wide, stable base, but no insulation. For what I wanted, I'll stick with the Alladin mugs.
