Auto transmissions are a mystery to most of us, even those who are performance enthusiasts. Ron's book is an excellent introduction into the inner workings of the TH350. More importantly though, the book gives great step-by-step info on rebuilding your 350 yourself. It's not as hard as you would think! The book is full of informative photos and diagrams and also contains info regarding high-performance modifications. If your thinking about doing your own TH350 rebuild, forget GM manuals. This is the only book you'll need.

I can only second what the first reader review of this book sais. I was amazed how the author takes you by the hand and how he does not forget to tell you even about the smallest details you might forget about! Tackling a th350 rebuild is something really advanced, even for a quite experienced gearhead but with this book you will be on the safe side! Good Luck!

Before starting my current restoration project, I knew absolutely nothing about working on cars - much less working on an automatic transmission. I purchased this book, built up my courage, and decided to attempt to rebuild my transmission completely on my own. With the help of the numerous pictures and detailed instructions, I had no problem doing my own transmission work. The author gives you a basic understanding of how a transmission works, details how to tear down the transmission, what to look for when inspecting the parts for ware, and how to put everything back together again. With this book, even a beginner can rebuild a transmission.

I purchased this book with plans of rebuilding a TH350 transmission. I read through the book and it is quite thorough. It was recommended to me by several other gentlemen who had undertaken rebuilding this tranny and had successfully accomplished the task (by using the book).

This is one of those types of things when you have more time than money and can't afford to put the transmission in a shop for it to be rebuilt. You are going to need a few specialized tools or access to them to get this done.

This is the best automotive book i have ever used. i have been around people who repaired transmissions and watched, but this book is like having all their knowlede at you finger tips. Forget the haynes manual if you plan on building a TH350 its super vague and the photos are hard to see.

I recently just read and used this book for a TH350 rebuild. This is a very good book all though i do not recomend just using this book if your a amature builder or if this is your first time rebuilding a transmission. This book contains alot of knowledge and has everything you need to do everything you want in a build but when it talks about certain parts it doesnt show some of the picture on how or where some of the parts go,so i used a Haynes GM automatic transmission overhual book right along with the build. This book has a detailed section on teardown and assembly with very detailed pictures on all the parts. basically step by step for the first timer.

If you are planning on rebuilding the TH350 this is a must have book. Very concise and not too hard to understand. Best bet to skim the whole book before you start so you get an idea of what you are facing and what tools you will need.
