After trying many different things, I just threw it in a junk box.
David D. Mcgilbery
I didn't even use it much at all, maybe two to three times a week for 5 or 6 seconds at a time.
B. Brown
It's unfortunate, because this lighter is super compact, and durable.
Frustrated!!!

After pondering about whether to buy this model or the proven gx7 model, " the one with the rounded tank and locking mechanism" I decided on this model type for three reasons. Reason 1 being that I didn't need the locking mechanism on mine only because I kept thinking it would be just one more thing to break if it was able to. Reason 2 was that the rounded body just looked like it would add more space to my molle pouches where I would be keeping it in on my gear, if you are familiar with the limited space available to put pouches and gear on your load bearing vest then you know what im talking about, space is everything to me and my setup. Even if it is only 2 1/2 tall. Also reason 3 is what I liked most was that the cap was connected and operated on a flip up setup, instead of the chain connected type on the G series turboflame brand. The lighter arrived a little later than expected but arrived two days later. Out of the box I made sure to bleed out all the stuff from when they tested it before it left the factory. And im pretty sure they test them before they leave the distributors warehouse also because the package was kind of opened, so that made me think Q.C. is on there toes. But after refilling it with near zero impurity or five x's refined butane fuel " make sure of this by the way or it wont work for much, like with all refillable butane type torches". I tuned it up by tweaking the fuel output with a small screwdriver on the bottom of the torch and viola, works everytime I hit the button. Five stars for operation and four stars for delivery time. Ill make sure I update this when I put it to good hard use in the field.

This is a nicely priced lighter. Mine wouldn't maintain a flame, it caught for a fraction of a second then went out, which seemed like a problem. Like an idiot, I adjusted the Phillips screw on the bottom, instead of the split collar that surrounds the fill nozzle. The Phillips head holds the bottom in place, but the +/- arrows are near it, which may be fooling others as well. Once I realized what I was doing wrong, I switched to a small flat screwdriver and adjusted the flame up correctly using the collar, and the lighter began working. I am using triple filtered butane, and this is purchased as an infrequently-used utility tool (not for smoking) so I expect this lighter to last for a while. Time will tell.

This is a great deal for an outdoor lighter. There is a quick fix that you may need to do with the ignition wire placement - mine wasn't lighting immediately so I moved the wire slightly more to the center of the burners and raised the height. This has created a larger, taller spark which has increased ignition frequency to almost 100% on the first try. I haven't noticed any adverse effects yet and have used it through about 3 refills so far without issue. It hasn't been abused at all yet but has seen cold, wind and slushy rain without failing.

Let me first say, I have purchased several different turboflame lighters before. The problem I have had are they were cheaply build and soon started degrading after arriving. Usually the jets would clog or the lid would break off. This is not the case with the ProForce Turboflame Ranger. Body is at first glance, kind of chunky, but it fits easily in my pocket. The twin flames are hot, 1300c hot! Good for instantly melting nylon rope. Safety cap insures it does not go off in my pocket, and gas level indicator lets me know when to refill. However, with this lighter you need to use at least triple refined butane to maintain clean jet nozzles. I, and ProForce, recommend Vector Quintuple Refined Butane Gas Fuel Refill. So far, this produce has already lasted longer then previous products without problems (about 2 months). I know it cost more then other models, but you get what you pay for, and in this case, it turned out for the better.

looks nice and I wish it had work but even filling it up with quint filtered fuel no joy.
I see the spark, sounds like the flow control system fails. I tried adjusting the screw(better make it clear the fill valve is the screw you adjust) and that did nothing.
solid construction, nice looks...to bad it fails as a lighter hehe

back it goes, it may be just a Quality control issue...so I may try one more.

UPDATE
ordered another just to give it a try as I really do not like giving such low ratings.
it worked but one of the jets inside looks like its misaligned, lighter gets hot very quickly; the slightest breeze and it goes out.

avoid the product, its really just a butane lighter, hard to understand how they could have such quality issues.

big thumbs down on this one..unless you just want it for looks and never plan on using; it looks nice ;-)
( I am not even sure if this one is safe to use)

I can't believe more outdoor places don't carry this great lighter. Unreal price when you research the other options. I don't know how this seller got them as they come from Europe from what I can tell. Lights every time, even upside down. No delicate element to break, just a piezoelectric button to create a spark and bam...Instant torch every time. I bought one to test for my survival kit and loved it's performance so much that I just picked one up for my Dad. Careful lighting cigars with this one, its so hot you can solder metal. Don't forget you 5x filtered fuel, it ships empty.
