Fascinating but,
By Zoe (NEPA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Turbulence: A Log Book (Hardcover)
Henrik Drescher is an amazingly talented man and this book certainly is evidence of both his skill and creativity. However, I find more and more I want books to endure more than one read or more than one view. After I went through the book once, I found it languished on my shelf. It is nonetheless worth that one long view.

inside an artist's head,

i was not able to really follow the story, and that was a little frustrating, but i came away grateful that i had the opportunity to glance into the most personal depths of a man's mind. drescher's images conjure up dark feelings, yet they are fascinating in their seeming honesty. I recommend this book for people who enjoy personal looks at artists.

The Surreal world of dreams and nightmares.,

This review is from: Turbulence: A Log Book (Hardcover)
"Turbulence" is Henrik Drescher's most intense book. The story is about a man who goes on some kind of journey dealing with sexual desires.
This book may be a bit difficult for younger readers, since the story itself is sort of confusing, as I had so much difficulty with understanding this book. Also, Henrik Drescher's images are much more nightmarish in this book than in his books aimed at children. For anyone who love Henrik Drescher's works, will definitely enjoy this book, but for anyone who don't like nightmarish images, this book might not be for them.

Awesome Ecstasy,

Love it. Henrik has amazing powers of dreaming up psychotic imagery. I love his line quality, his color sense, his ability to layer imagery... The book is such a small work of art in itself w/ diecuts and vellum pages. Its a wealth of ecstasy. Its a kick in the gut for your creative lull. So glad I got this!!

This was a fantastic recent find at a used bookstore. The art is amazing. The story...so-so. I bought it for the art. Visually stunning, Henrik Drescher is someone I'm going to pay attention to in the future.
