Superb new disc of French rarities,

This review is from: Turbulent Heart [SACD] (Audio CD)
This new disc by an Australian group is startlingly good. The orches-tral playing is superb, and the recording itself is very sharp and realistic. The balance between orchestra and soloist is also excel-lent. The music itself is a revelation. Vierne is best known for his organ compositions, and Chausson for his "Poeme." The music in these selections is superb, making one wonder why we don't hear more of it. This CD is an eye-opener!
