This is one of the most useless textbooks I have ever used. It has very small text that is in columns of endless pages with poorly structured passages. There is no review of the chapters and the headings are not always clear on what aspect of history is being addressed within the chapter. I like history but this book made me miserable.
Not only is this the absolute worst history textbook I've ever had, it's hands down the worst textbook I've had. In the past I've loved history, I fell asleep actually reading the textbook after reading chapters and chapters ahead. This book is AWFUL. It looks like a legal document. All the same type font, all the same size, barely using bold and italics to set apart sections. The images are all in black and white. It looks worse than the Tuesday local newspaper. I feel bad for anyone else who has to use this textbook. I stopped using it because it was so long, drawn out, and impossible to keep your attention. If you have to use this textbook for a class, I am sorry, and feel your pain. Be sure to write a review of your class at the end of the semester saying they need to ditch it. Spare students in the future of this awful waste of paper they call educational and had the guts to put authors' names on.
i had to buy this textbook for my 20th century history class, and as a highschoool sophomore, i find it way too difficult to understand. i need to spend probably 20 minutes per page to actually grasp the information given. there's way too much information being crammed into single sentences, and the language is just difficult to understand. it is torture using this book because it takes forever to read.
