Matt Turk has been on the New York music scene for years. This album effectively captures some of the energy a listener always receives from Matt when he plays live around the city. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not to good
This album is not all that great. It sounds alot like alot of stuff Wierd All Yankovich might have made as a parody. It is course sounding and seems unfinished. It only has 6 songs so you get very little for what you pay. The only decent song is the last one and most of that one was done with the help of many more talented artists. Unless you corny Music i cannot recomend...

Matt Turk has been on the New York music scene for years. This album effectively captures some of the energy a listener always receives from Matt when he plays live around the city. The tunes are varied, ranging from the effective Jimmy to the harder edged Buffalo Head to the absolutely infectious Fifth and Faith. This album is easy listening not in the cheezy 70's way- rather you throw it on your turntable and you find yourself relieved, and ultimately, in a much better mood than when you started. I recommend buying this album; for me, it always eminates a great vibe through the musicianship, lyrics and blatant talent of Matt Turk.

5.0 out of 5 stars Matt's debut solo album rocks!, August 30, 2004
This review is from: Turktunes (Audio CD)
Great stuff, starting-off with the memorable "Jimmy" and chock full of emotion-laden/evoking music, this album leaves you hungering for more! "Fifth & Faith" is wonderful, and "Favorite Tune" will have you singing out loud as you listen. My main complaint is the brevity of the disc (you need more than six Matt Turk songs to satisfy!), but the lack of quantity is more than made up for with quality - every song is memorable.

The amazing thing is - if you have a chance to hear Matt perform live after you've digested this album, you realize that he's certainly still improving his craft. The songs are that much more confident & charged, and it lets you hear his albums in a whole new light. In any event, you can't go wrong starting here, so buy TurkTunes & add your review . . .

Matt is a fixture on the NY music scene and his life experiences come through in his strong lyrics and amazing musicianship. This is great lyrical music. Highly recommended. This is an artist with a great future.
