I purchased turmeric oil because I had read about its ability to help with arthritic pain: and I have two family members that live with quite a bit of pain on a regular basis. One of them has osteoarthritis in his knees and the other has rheumatoid arthritis in his hands, wrists, elbows and knees.

They apply a 2% dilution to the affected areas a few times a day. And while they are certainly not pain free, there has been some improvement. It hasn't reduced the swelling, but there is some relief from pain which has resulted in increased mobility. (Be sure to rub it in thoroughly; it will take a few minutes for the oily feel to disappear.)

This oil should not be used without first diluting it with carrier oil. I mix the turmeric oil with cold pressed sweet almond oil. A good rule of thumb is to use a 2% to 3% dilution. That amounts to approximately 12 to 15 drops of essential oil to 1 oz. of carrier oil. Be sure to keep it in a dark amber bottle and away from light.

Just so that it doesn't come as a surprise, I should tell you that it really doesn't have a nice scent. The good news is that once you rub it in, the scent dissipates quickly - you won't get any strange looks from anyone in your office or at the grocery store.

Note: 5 star ratings for this company's products are questionable. They will send an email to you offering a complimentary product if you post a review. If you give the item fewer than 5 stars they will ask what they can do to change it to 5 stars. I told them that my review was based solely on the product's performance and not upon anything they had done. As a result, I never received a complementary product - which really isn't an issue for me. What I have a problem with is the practice of "buying" a particular rating.

I purchased this for my 7 year old who has been diagnosed with J.A Rheumatoid Arthritis. My mom mentioned that a friend of hers takes turmeric pills but I didn't want my daughter to ingest turmeric because it can be hard on the stomach and she already has to take other pills. We have gotten used to the smell and have seen improvement in her condition in the recent months. I purchased this product because it was THERAPEUTIC grade (which means it is safe for you to take internally). As mentioned, she does not take internally but I like to buy the best available at the lowest price. I'm willing to spend more for high quality but how much better to save more for high quality? Thank you, Amazon, for providing us with such great options!

These oils by Eden's Garden are not the least bit inferior to doTerra, Melaleuca, or Young Living. I say this because for most essential oil users, quality and purity is a concern, and many are under the impression that you can only get the best by joining an MLM. Many of the praises for Eden’s Garden come from current and / or former DT, Melaleuca, and YL customers. We have also used virtually every MLM essential oil brand known to man, and this is right up there with the best of them in quality and purity, at a fraction of the price. The reason it is a fraction of the price is because it does not have about 3 to 5 levels of compensations for its representatives built into the margins, which drastically reduces the overhead. That is why many former MLM essential oil distributors who still want to use a great product yet can’t afford the network marketing prices and aren’t making any money with them have tried and like Eden’s Garden. From my experience, and countless other essential oil enthusiasts who have also used doTerra, YL, and Melaleuca, there is no difference in quality, purity or smell with Eden’s Garden. If you are one of the 1 - 5% making great money with an MLM, more power to you! But for everyone else, this oil matches up well with the best of them.

I use this to combat inflammation and it's a great pain reliever. 5 drops per day and I do feel noticably better, knees don't hurt as much and it's great for headaches. Stinks but works.

This is all tumeric oil. Strong. Pungent. Pure. If you are looking for all oil and no filler oil, this is it. Powerful scent because it's pure. I use it directly on my skin and have never had it irritate. Love it!

Good pure oil. If you've used some tumeric oils you'll appreciate this for it's low staining. I use it on my face and it has not discolored anything yet. Seems highly effective. Don't get it in your eyes if you use it on your skin, which sort of goes without saying, but I mention it because it stings for a good half hour if you do.

Turmeric is known for its anti-inflammation properties and this product has been wonderful. I rub it on my sore joints and it helps, a lot! Even my physical therapist uses it at the end of our sessions. I would highly recommend this product for anyone suffering from joint pain and is tired of always feeling stiff and sore.

I bought this oil to make the famous Indian beauty mas. I like it. 2 spoons chickpea flour and 1 spoon turmeric powder, some milk or yogurt an s a few drops of this. Try it. But be careful if you have sensitive skin because it stings. It might hurt your skin. I am afraid to use it alone like apricot oil; which is great anti-wrinkle night cream
