Excellent Collection Of Songs By The Great Hank Williams, June 27, 2009

In a short career that spanned only from 1946 to 1952 Hank Williams recorded some of the all time classic songs of country music. This 3 disc collection includes most of his best material and provides an excellent overview of this great artist. The package is cleverly divided into three parts, with each disc devoted to a major theme in Hank's music - 1)Honky Tonking 2)Love and Marriage 3)God and Religion.
Included are excellent and extensive liner notes by Colin Escott which cover Hank's career and music. Newcomers will better understand Hank's songs in the context of his life after reading Escott's writing. But, of course, it's the music that is the main event. And with songs like "I Saw The Light", "Honky Tonk Blues" and "Cold, Cold Heart" you are in for some of the best country music ever made.
