Far better than expected!,

Far-Less has put out quite a few CD's independently, each one progressively getting better, so I was a bit insterested to hear Far-Less' first stab at a major label. While it is only an EP, Turn To The Bright show us a more mature, solid, and all around better release from this promising band. Far-Less have mastered the art of melodic hardcore, the vocals can be sung without whining, and the music can be soft without sounding like a Dashboard Confessional b-side. Pick up this CD, the price is right and I wouldn't lie to you, right?

They are good at what they do!,

O.K. once again I have found a band that I rather enjoy but they aren't doing anything musically that no other band has done. They have the poppy vocals, the aggressive screams and growls, and the typical hardcore/screamo whatever riffs. But you know what? I like this kind of music so that is why I like Far-Less. Their lead singer, Brandon Welch has a very good voice and he can scream with the best of them. He is a very talented singer. Now Far-Less's drummer is very good. He has some very intricate rhythms and his double bass skills are also very impressive. The drummer's skills might be what makes Far-Less stick out from other bands like them for me. The guitarists play some very intricate riffs to go along with the drumming so the guitarists aren't bad musicians either. Let me just go ahead and say that Far-Less are good musicians. My favorite song on this ep would have to be "Scorched earth policy" for it is Far-Less's most intense song and Brandon Welch shows his diversity. I appreciate their spiritual lyrics and just this whole ep is good. Another positive is that this ep is 6 songs but it is over 20 minutes long so I got my moneys worth. God bless.

Meh Metal,

I actually just finished listening to this album, and it a lot of meh.
It basically highlights some of the problems of heavy metal today in that it has no clear direction or innovation. I understand they want to blend pop elements into it to update it, but the vocal dubs are kind of lame.
