2010 sophomore album from actor, director, singer and songwriter Kevin Costner and his band Modern West. Prior to achieving major success as a film actor, Costner grew up with a deep love for and interest in music. Modern West began after Kevin's wife, Christine, encouraged him to reconnect with his love of music. The album is a mix of true Roots Rock la Bruce Springsteen and traditional Country music and radiates a fresh charm. Kevin is no longer just a Hollywood icon but a sympathetic musician full of passion and feeling. Turn It On does not sound like a movie star's vanity project. It's contemporary Americana set against a Western backdrop. He sings about freight trains, dusty avenues and broken dreams in a voice that's truly pleasant...and he commands the stage with the same understated sex appeal he has on the big screen.

Bought the CD because my husband heard "Let Me Be the One" on YouTube, and I couldn't download just that song. What a great CD! Why hasn't it been publicized??? Costner & Modern West are better than most of the stuff played on Country or Pop stations! I'll be buying their other CD's, and would love to see them in concert, too.

Talent? Mr. Costner sure has plenty of it. His CD "Untold Truths" gets five stars, though--there isn't a bad tune on it.
