Not what you wanted, but STAY TUNED, December 12, 2002
This review is from: Turn Off the Radio Mixtape 1 (Audio CD)
Possibly one of the most anticipated releases from fans of true hiphop and those in the know, this album just doesn't deliver. Many of the tracks seem rushed and scrappy, the lyrics on Know Your Enemy (one of the better tracks) although well intentioned, are in my opinion some of DP's weakest. That said, based on beats alone this is a fairly good album by today's standards, average at worst. If Let's Get Free was the breath of fresh air hip hop fans have been waiting for, Turn Off The Radio was the exhalation back out. But stay tuned for the next release, it can only get better.

I have some sense!, December 15, 2002
This review is from: Turn Off the Radio Mixtape 1 (Audio CD)
Those who have posted reviews do not understand this album. They wanted a straight forward, friendly little thing that says naughty words and a few radical things against bush. DP are more hiphop than that. Didn't you know for starters that this is actually a mix tape? This is not the second album! It's an underground thing they are releasing before the real deal early next year!

Remember Folks, This is a MIXTAPE, December 8, 2002
This review is from: Turn Off the Radio Mixtape 1 (Audio CD)
This album is obviously not as good as "Let's Get Free" which is one of the best hiphop albums of all time. But compared to all the other garbage out there it deserves a 5 STAR RATING. Otherwise, if their first album is a 5 then this would be a 3. Keep in mind that this is a mixtape, not a regular album. This is just a little something to hold the fans over cause we been antsy for some new stuff from dp. So their 2nd album is due out early 2003, tentatively Malcolm Xs b-day. Support dp, buy this mixtape. Unless you want fakers like Ja Rule to dominate.
