decent sound on a hot live record...,

I was at this show at the Bottom of The Hill in San Francisco, and it sounds even better now than it did then... I guess that's the extra magic of post production. The band was in fine form that night, and Chuck and Max Butler were shredding on the guitars as usual. The best part was when some guy proposed to his gal on stage between songs with Chuck egging the moment on. It was a tour right before radio got hipped to the Prophet's sonic stylings, so it was a somewhat sparse midweek crowd enjoying a fine moment that's been preserved for history. Here's a couple YouTube videos from the gig I shot if you want proof of a couple of the night's worthy & moody moments...[...]

Great Songs/Performances - Interesting Setlist - Not Quite ALL the Hits,

I found this disc to be very nice, but with a setlist to be desired. Not to say these are bad songs they just aren't the HITS. Homemade Blood is the main attraction here and it doesn't hold up to the live versions I have heard... BUT the other songs in some way sound just as good if not better than the studio versions. ...........a two disc set would have covered more ground........... grab this one!... Chuck fans! I waited but I am glad I waited no longer great show great sound a beginning to the beginning of the Chuck Prophet sound Highly Recommended !! |
