There is a lot of information in print about stress, and how much we need to manage it, and dire warnings about what will happen to us it we don't. But, what, exactly, does one DO! This book gives very simple, easy to follow daily practices that will change your life. Its that simple. I have practiced yoga and meditation in the Phoenix Rising style for five years now, and continue to learn about myself. I am more aware of my choices, my resistance to change, and, most important, moments of joy. I am less angry, and more grateful. This book is written with warmth and insight into our less than perfect humaness...Let it inspire you. Susan Sullivan

This is a great book if you want to learn how to enjoy life more by using the unique Phoenix Rising body-mind approach. Its easy and it works. If you follow Lee's program you will most certainly change your life for the better and have more fun. Its also a book that could be well used in corporations, schools, prisons, or anywhere people want their own personal stress reduction program that's easy to follow. Its also a very beautiful book. Great photos and excellent layout. Definitly five stars

This book has it all - yoga, meditation, pranayama (breath). I especially like the way the book breaks down the plan with a specific focus for each week and gives a plan for each day of the week. Well worth the commitment of 40 minutes a day.

The work required by this book's program is surprisingly simple and not physically demanding at all. However, the mental and spiritual aspects are very powerful and profound. The only "hard" part is making the time every day and sticking with it. I found the results to be so obvious and so quick that following through every day is a joy, and is easier to stick with than I ever imagined.

I was blessed to have attended a weekend workshop with Michael Lee a few weeks into my eight-week journey with his book. He is gentle, knowledgeable, compassionate, and inspiring. I feel as if I have been awakened.

Let me add that I come from a conservative Christian background, and I have been able to use this as a tool in my walk with God. I only mention this because some people fear that yoga or meditation is not Christian and can lead one away from God toward false gods (or the Hindu spirituality), but I think it is what you put into it. (In person, Mr. Lee was very accepting and encouraging of the Judeo-Christian walk.) With this book I have found that the Holy Spirit is within me and ready to guide me as he promised, and now I know how to "be still and know that I am God" and hear the voice and find the peace, love, and JOY that I have been so desperately seeking. I don't want to turn this review into a spiritual debate. I'm just saying, don't be turned off if you are Christian. This can deepen your prayer life.

After about two weeks a friend of mine was surprised to see that I had found joy for the first time in a long time. Even my face looked different, she said. Yes, joy. Many thanks.
